"Covid" was Never about "Public Health": It was about Politics

From the very start, “Covid” was a political tool. It was instrumentalized, and to be more specific, weaponized. “Covid” was never really about “Public Health,” “Medicine,” or even about a “virus”. That is why so many of the “measures” appeared arbitrary, irrational, menacing, and malicious—like “bad medicine”. That is also why so many pre-pandemic preparedness plans were simply tossed aside. This was a tremendous opportunity for political leveraging. Whether it was China proving that it had the best method of social control, thus brandishing its skills and technologies as an emergent world leader; Italy's Roberto Speranza who saw lockdowns as a “new dawn” for the Left; Trump's desire to avoid accusations that he did too little, in an election year; or Trudeau's plan to transform Canadians into pliant and dependent objects—everywhere, Covid was political....
