Double Dolphin - 3 January 2025

I was pleasantly surprised to find that I'm now a Double Dolphin 🐬🐬

I thought of ways of celebrating this achievement : I could knit a dolphin or I could crochet a dolphin. I could also sew a dolphin. I eventually came up with a different idea : I could make an origami dolphin.

I recently found this origami paper in a box with craft materials. The paper's from a company called Muji which sells lots of really simple and stylish stationery. They also sell clothes, but I've never tried buying any as I'm not so keen on buying and then probably having to return clothes because they don't fit. I do like to buy stationery and the paper was £2.50 or about 18 Steem at the time which is cheap as there are many sheets of paper. I cannot read Japanese so I don't if there's any warning on the pack.

The sheets of (thin) paper are a little bit over 15 cm or 6 inches. As I had the paper the next step was to find a good diagram or You Tube tutorial on how to fold a dolphin. My search led me to a Japanese language website full of crafty resources. The diagrams for this model seemed easy too :

I'm not so sure about the result though. I think I'd like this model a bit more if the paper wasn't so big. I think the big sheet of paper needs to be folded more and I felt the model was a bit too flat in colour.

My search on You Tube brought up a number of options but I settled for one that seemed simple while at the same time it had a little bit of contrast colour showing. You can see the tutorial I followed below :

The tutorial did not include any spoken instructions so the background music didn't have to compete with the talking.
