JP Duminy - So much Potential... cheers Champ

in #cricket7 years ago

Ah,

So JP Duminy has retired from International Test Cricket.

I know there are a lot of Saffa fans that are quite pleased right now, but I cant feel a bit sad. I love JP, I really do. He is such a classy cricketer.

By far my favourite century of his:

When in his bubble, I cant think of a more eye pleasing thing to watch. Gorgeous

Lets not even get into the debut series in Australia. Never. Be. Forgotten.

A batting average of 32.85 from from 74 innings, and a bowling average of 38.11 from 57 innings is never going to make you a legend of the game, and he copped his fair criticisms for it, but every single time he came to the crease you always had this hope, this sense that today was going to be the day. This was going to be the innings that was going to launch him into the stratosphere of cricket lore. Yet everytime he would show the glimpses of his capabalities and talent, he would just as quickly fade away and come tumbling back to earth and back to the criticisms and itense glare of public and media scrutiny.

Then he would do it again and again and again. I absolutely loved him for it. He had that cheeky smile, that determined look. Never back down attitude.
Succeed or fail, loved or hated, runs or no runs. JP Duminy, thanks for the joys and heartbreak!

To many more years of ODI destruction!

Cheers
