Battle for No.01 Spot in T20 Cricket Ranking
Today visitor's Pakistan played their last match of 2018/2019 tour on New Zealand soil. It's always tough for Asian Teams to beat Nz team in their tough conditions.
Going through 5-0 down in ODIs and after their poor batting performance in 1st T20, Pakistan team bounce back in 2nd T20 by winning convincingly with 48 runs.
3rd T20 was not only a series decider match but also a decider which team will rule on T20 cricket world.
Chasing a target of 182, New Zealand could only manage 163/6 in their 20 overs after Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat in the third and final Twenty20 International today. Earlier, Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman top-scored with 46 to take them to 181/6 in 20 overs in what is the series-deciding game at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. Spinners Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner were among wickets, scalping two each. In reply, Kane Williamson’s side fell short by 18 runs. Martin Guptill was the best batsman on the day, scoring 59. Pakistan has comeback in an emphatic manner to seal the series. So, Pakistan have become the no. 1 side in the T20Is.
Pakistan can now concentrate on the domestic T20 league while the Kiwis will now play a tri-series including Australia and England.
