Crowdfunding in Developing Economies:

With growing adoption of new technology & social media in developing countries, the opportunities for crowdfunding has increased. Small and medium enterprises can seek their capital through fundraising. As we discussed there are majorly four types of crowd funding models.

Donations: Investors will invest in micro ventures as donations, simply because they believe that, their contribution will make an individual’s self-sustain.
Rewards: In this type of crowdfunding, campaigner will provide investors any kind of non- monetary profits instead of shares or profit.
Equity: In this model, investors will get a share in the business. They need to bear with success or failure of the business.
Lending: Investors will invest in micro-ventures as loan, once the business go live, entrepreneurs will return the capital amount with some interest in fixed tenure.

The market could grow to $ 90- 95 billion invested by the investors, over the next 20 years, according to the work bank estimates. this 90 billion over 20 years is less than 25% of the $400 billion developing countries received last year alone, from remittances from individual back to their home countries, according to 2012 world bank figures.
As per World Bank Records

There is no fee from Crowdera but payment gateway chatges. As they have operations in both India and USA, they have three different plans.

By using Paypal: If anyone using PayPal as an option to fundraise then there is a fee of 2.9% and 30 cents from total fundraised amount,

By using WePay: If anyone using WePay as an option to fundraise then there is 2.75% and 30 cents as fee

Fundraising in INR: If anyone raising funds in INR then there is 3.75% fee from all parts of the world.

Fundraising in USD: If payments are made in USD then individuals need to bare 5% of campaign amount as fee to payment gateways.

Advantages of Blockchain based Crowdfunding:

By using blockchain in crowdfunding, any investors can donate/lend entrepreneurs or for some social cause. There is more transparency and added advantages of using blockchain in crowdfunding/fundraising. We can avoid all this payment gateway charges and help the more to campaigners. I will try to list more benefits of adopting blockchain for crowdfunding platforms.
