Pynk goes international

in #crowdwisdom6 years ago

As I wrote in my last blog, Pynk is going international. We’re getting on a plane what seems like every month now — and for good reason. We’re intent on building our profile in the tech communities, we’re pitching Pynk to investors across the world and we’re keeping on top of emerging trends across Blockchain, A.I., fintech and broader frontier tech (stay tuned for forthcoming articles on frontier tech from our Product Director, Philip Fletcher).

Last week the big cheese, Pynk CEO Seth Ward, was in Hong Kong for the Token 2049 event.

While there, Seth met with Dr. Jane Thomason (Twitter: janeathomason) who is ‘recognised in Forbes Magazine (2018) as Blockchain’s Leading Social Development Evangelist, and is a pioneer for Blockchain & digital technologies for social impact, education and empowerment of women.’ Now that’s our kind of person.

We talked in our WhitePaper about the longer term ambitions of Pynk. Today we are starting with the ‘edge to our sword’, using our Crowd Prediction and A.I. to trade on traditional financial and digital assets. However, social purpose is at the core of what we are doing here at Pynk. Tomorrow we will use the Wisdom of Crowds (WoC) to research and validate those frontier tech projects that have true social impact, and have the commercial potential to scale. We believe the two are not mutually exclusive and that the faster a project scales the bigger its impact on society. Much like Dr. Thomason, we’re all about supporting the projects that use tech for good.

Ledger were also at the event and they go from strength to strength. The new Ledger Vault solution is a mix of hardware and service solutions, and a ‘multi-authorization cryptocurrency wallet management solution’ enabling financial institutions to safe keep their funds. As Asset Managers ourselves — we’re excited to see new security solutions coming to the fore in 2019.

Seth also spoke with the team from CoinFlex who are the world’s first crypto currency futures exchange. We know the team and they’re a trustworthy bunch, so we’re considering them as a future partner. Furthermore, and unlike some well-known exchanges, they don’t have an internal trading desk that looks to make money from the orders of their customers. This is a particularly unhealthy industry practice and not in line with the ethics of Pynk — so we’re excited to work with CoinFlex and support an exchange that does things the ‘Pynk way’.

Next up Ru Barksfield (Pynk COO) was in beautiful Warsaw, Poland for the Wolves Summit.

The Wolves event was a new one for us at Pynk and one we will definitely attend again. It’s all about 1:1 meetings between potential investors and startups — and there were a lot of them. In total, there were 2,023 participants, 225 investors, 353 Corporates & Executives, 477 Startups and a massive 4,534 individual meetings!

AngelsDen ran a startup pitch competition and a massive congratulations to our friends at Salesbook who won with their innovative sales and presentation tool for mobile sales teams.

We met with plenty of new contacts and potential investors at the event and had some great conversations. Quote of the event for us came from Bartek Gola, General Partner, SpeedUp Venture Capital Group: “We are fed up with bullsht! Be truthful.” We’re also fed up with the bullsht, and that’s why we’re all about telling it how it is here at Pynk. Finally, a big thanks to the Wolves Summit team for putting this event together and we’re already looking forward to the next one.

That’s all from us at Pynk this week. If you want to get in touch with us directly — then get in the Pynk today or slide into our Telegram group.

And if you’re in London, we will be at the Beer and Blockchain event on Wednesday, March 27th. See you there for a cold one.
