Vechain coming to Bittrex
Yesterday Bittrex CEO Bill Shihara gave the key note address at a small private event (reason for throw away account) sponsored by the National Security Institute at the George Mason Law School. While discussing their selection process he made a point that they want projects that have a great use case. His example of a great project went like this: A blockchain company from China showed up at their offices in November asking to meet with Bill, without any appointment. Having come all the way from China Bill agreed to hear their pitch, he gave them 15 min. The meeting lasted an hour and a half. He was amazed by how this company was using RFID to track luxury goods, the specific example was a purse, through the supply chain. With an app the consumer could verify where the purse was manufactured therefore establish its authenticity. The second stage of this company would be establishing a market for resale where designer goods could be sold by celebrities and the RFID tracking, in conjunction with an app, would establish that the specific good, say a purse, was the one taken to a certain popular event.
