John McAfee says he will be releasing a physical cryptocurrency!
Initial Coin Offering (ICO) promoter John McAfee says he will be releasing a physical cryptocurrency by the name of “McAfee Redemption Unit” (MRU), which is distinct from ''McAfee Coin'' which launced some time last year. Thia has been confirmed by McAfee's official twitter. The actual notes come in 7 different denominations, starting from 1 to 500 MRUs.Mcafee is a bit of an unorthadox individual to say the least and Four of the bills show pictures of McAfee shirtless and in other poses.but the one note in which he's surrounded by multiple women, while his nose is covered in a white powder takes the cake. The other notes feature photos of the founder of bitmain Jihan Wu, entrepreneur Brock Pierce, and the owner of Bitcoin. Roger Ver. According to McAfee 341,000 MRU notes have been printed, with an implied market cap of $60.2 million.McAfee is now 72 years old and it is estimated to take him roughly 25 to 30 years to accomplish this task.To top it off the process of redeeming the currency is even more difficult due to a message printed on the notes that reads ,they can only be redeemed in person in Mexico during a two-hour window each day, at which time the owner will be given a particular date, time, and location in the United States in which he or she will be able to meet with McAfee. Individuals, incidentally, may only redeem 100 MRUs at a time. When asked why this process is so difficult McAfee had this to say. “Redemption is purposely made very expensive. My followers are hugely loyal and I feel certain that many will go through time and huge expense for the opportunity to spend private time with me. See what this might do to the fundamental value of each redemption unit. If the value of a unit is based even remotely on the cost of redemption, which people are willing to pay, then the notes will immediately skyrocket. But the big key is in the way I have structured the auction sites. Cannot tell you more now.”Many websites also have theories that this is an elaborate hoax. Hoax or the real deal?
