Are you ready for VICE?

in #crypto7 years ago

So we have just over 1week to go before the Vice ICO opens to the public, are you ready to get into this one?

For those of you that haven't taken part in an ICO before, he's a few things you need to do now to make the process go nice and smooth on the day.

1) Make sure the funds you intend to use are in ETH. While this ICO and Project is a fork off the Steem blockchain, they are no accepting Steem in the ICO. So you need convert your steem earning or fiat into Ethereum through your favourite exchange.

2) Get your Ethereum into a wallet. You can't send the funds you plan on using for the ICO directly from an exchange, so you're going to need to consolidate all your funds somewhere such as My Ether Wallet.

3) Get in Early - ICO's can be very tricky, some will go on for months while others will sell out in minutes. I don't see this ICO selling out incredibly quickly, but there may be some delays in transactions so it's a good idea to get in early to ensure you get your allocation.

4) Sit back and relax. Read the whitepaper, all of the questions that are now going through your head are listed in there. You will get your tokens in March, the product is releasing in the middle of the year. So just chill, it'll all happen in due time.

So thats a few of the basic jobs that you should be getting now. I hope this is helpful to you all. Best of luck with this ICO!!!!

Great info, i have been reading on this one recently.

If my ether wallet is going to be used would I be able to use MetaMask instead?

Thanks I was going to ask the same thing.... I'm assuming yes, given other ICO's I've been involved in this regard.

nice coin, super information, yeah sir, i am ready,, i am new here, on steeemit,, can you also guide, nice news nice post, best of luck, please if you like also check my post,

What are your thoughts on the fact that Vice decided against waiting for SMTs and this will no longer be part of the Steem blockchain? Do you think they should have been more patient and do you think a SMT based future product will overtake it due to the sheer popularity and working blockchain that Steem has?

I think it needs to be on a seperate chain, the volume of data through it will be massive plus the nature of the content I believe will benefit from seperation. I'm getting worried about the whole SMT situation, there's been no news for months (not uncommon for steem though) but also no real announcements of partnerships for SMT's.

I really think that Vice will just be Dtube pointing to a different chain. The product should be 100% available to start working on day 1, the chain works everything else works. So long as the front end works they'll be 100% operational on day 1.
It'll also allow for witnesses to spread across different chains, those not making much here can head there to increase their chance of better witness rewards I'd assume.

Thanks for informations...

Awesome man, I'm already on the whitelist and ready to go! I hope this is big, it certainly has potential. I'll have to make sure that my Exodus wallet it okay, that damn MEW looks so confusing.

I'll ask the team in Telegram for you mate.

your the best man, someone answered me during the whitelist, but it wasn't an official admin, so just a bit nervous about that.

Ok so I got some good and bad news for you. You can send it from the Exodus Wallet but you can't receive it in there. You need to have MEW or similar.
The problem with Exodus is that it only holds a few coins, it doesn't take tokens etc.
So Sign up to MEW Mate, its not hard to use, though I do admit that it can look a bit scary.

Okay, I'll have to finally get one set up, thanks so much for asking for me man!

Great info thanks for sharing

Assuming they're doing the airdrop based on the steem holdings?

Is it only steem or will steempower be considered as well?

Do they have any information on how to claim the tokens that will be air dropped (assuming i'll have to set up a MEW)?
