I think it's important for investors' faith in crypto that scams like BitConnect are appropriately dealt with and I think that happened in this case. Didn't seem to have much impact on the market either - I think most people realized it was a scam by the end. Won't be the last so best advice is the advice your mom gave you: if it looks too good to be true...
