RE: It's a dangerous world out there...
I don't think HitBTC has competent staff to do anything useful... In my personal opinion, it's a lost cause. They charge ridiculous listing fees from new coins and a lot of their wallets have issues. When the wallets work, people panic and the exchange rates go way past moon...
Sounds like a good gig they got going. Charge people a ton to list, then after they list, don't maintain the wallets... sounds like they got it figured out!
They're like the old faux Windows NT advertisement: "Me invent wheel, me build server. Windows Neanderthal Technology"... Just because they want to run an exchange doesn't mean they have the required skills to do it properly.
And they make good money in the process, regardless!
Yeah... their fees are ridiculous... A lot of times the fees are even larger than the amount. Instead of taking 1% or less of the amount, they take flat fee of some fractional number or ten's multiple depending on exchange rate. Only way to not lose any extra money in fees is to withdraw in some low-value altcoin that other exchanges also support and convert to Ethereum or Bitcoin and then cash out directly from the second exchange.
Lovely. I won't be using them, ever. Even if I could.
I mostly use Bittrex, but even there I avoid constant withdrawing because of relatively high fees in Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Yep. Though ether is much better than bitcoin in most cases...
Ethereum is good in places that fully support it... Especially when Bitcoin has network congestion problems... When prices went up about year ago, I was trading Ethereum against IntenseCoin and got from about 0.30 EUR up to over 60 EUR in value. Couldn't cash out as the amount was still a little below minimum deposit limit as big exchanges use contracts for Ethereum deposits and Ethereum network also got congested. It took me 299 more days to get enough Ethereum to reach the minimum deposit limit.
