Redeeming Beth ICO tokens through MyEtherWallet

in #crypto8 years ago

For many of us who bought into Beth's ICO we can begin redeeming our tokens! The group behind Beth recently released instructions on how to redeem your tokens using the Mist desktop wallet, but I was able to find that the instructions worked similarly for those using MyEtherWallet.

Creating a MyEtherWallet is quite simple and can be done at their website almost instantly: https://www.myetherwallet.com

Accessing the wallet is simple as well and can be done from their website using either the wallet's private key or a downloadable, password-protected wallet file.

Once you have your wallet address, simply add this address to your https://ico.beth.jp account used to originally purchase the Beth ICO tokens. Next Wednesday or so will be the next release of tokens if you haven't had an address to this point.

Once the tokens have been sent to your MyEtherWallet your wallet must be configured to display Beth tokens before you can actually make use of them, but this is rather straightforward. The following two screenshots are from the MyEtherWallet website and show how to add the Beth token, including the all-important address, token symbol and decimal used to set up custom tokens. Once you've logged into https://www.myetherwallet.com with your private key or wallet file, you should come to the following page:

Simply select "Add Custom Token" and add the following information to the form:

For reference, the Beth token information to be entered here is:

  • Address - 0xd5b9a2737c9b2ff35ecb23b884eb039303bbbb61
  • Token Symbol - BTH
  • Decimal - 18

Once completed the section for "BTH" should appear in your wallet, and if you had tokens issued yet you will see a total as well. I simply deleted my token total from the screenshot for security purposes but they are definitely there :)

I hope this helps others who made the Beth ICO plunge with me and decided to use MyEtherWallet as well! Here's to the future and a very interesting July!

I'm very interested in participating in an ICO but I have no idea how to choose one.

As long as you don't put up anything you aren't willing to lose it's at least an interesting gamble. Definitely shop around and find what resonates with you as an idea.

Any advise on a resource for finding some upcoming ICOs that are on the cheaper side?

Steemit ;) Honestly I never just take any one source, but it's interesting to see people in general's pros and cons.

Wise advise. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I used it and now have the keys to shiny new Beth tokens. I was pretty conservative investing because of all of the 'scam coin' buzz (I think ETH was one of those once upon a time). What I really hope is that eventually we'll all be saying... "I wish I'd bought more of that when it was fifty cents!"
