The digital age depends on the technologies that we have been developing and perfecting over the past years. The last decade or two have been the most intensive in terms of technological development. One of the systems that is central to the operations of the various technologies and innovations we use every day is the GPS. The global positioning system is used in nearly all mobile devices and laptops being manufactured in this day and age. There are four groups of participants in the XYO network. When a request is made concerning the location of a particular item, the first group known as Sentinels, gather data about the location of this item via the available means. This data is then taken up by Bridge, who are the second group required in XYO. Bridges then relay this data to a group known as Archivists. The major role of the Bridges is to ensure that they get legitimate data that has not been tampered with in any way. Once they have ascertained this, the data is then taken up by Archivists. The role of archivists is to store data that they have obtained from bridges. Data from the same Bridge can be used by multiple Archivists. Diviners will then use the data from Archivists to come up with the most probable location of the item. The best possible answer will be given.

This system seems like a long process but as everything is in the tech world, explanations may be long but the actual process is pretty fast. XYO plans to refine this system with time such that Diviners use already existing data to make pinpointing the location of the requested item even faster. However, they will maintain all their components to stay up-to-date with the changes that occur with location data.

XYO’s innovation is suited in this future we are living in. Self-driving cars and teased drone deliveries are just some of the tech that may benefit greatly through this project. However, it could also be used to solve some small problems that we face, like finding car keys. Forgetting where you placed your keys is something that we may have all gone through. With physical products that can track the whereabouts of your keys and other valuables, XYO can give you the peace of mind you deserve when you can’t find these items. It could even be a game changer for the supply chain sector and e-commerce. XYO can use its platform to track goods from their point of origin, down the supply chain until they reach their purchaser. This tracking could also give buyers some assurance that their products are moving and will arrive at a specific date.

Where goods are damaged, the location record may help pinpointing where the damage may have taken place. It could also be used to track mobile phones and other devices thereby discouraging the theft of electronics. XYO could also be revolutionary for tracking cars and management of fleets in institutions. It can give the whereabouts of these vehicles on demand and more accurately. The benefits of an accurate and secure location data system are extensive and they may grow with time.
