The worlds most expensive Pizza.
If you on Steemit then there is a pretty good chance that you have at least a basic grasp on crypto and there for a good chance that you have heard the story of the worlds most expensive pizza but just in case you haven't.
If we assume that Haute living has done the research then these following pizzas where the worlds most expensive as of 2010.
- Maze, London, a Gordon Ramsey Restaurant — $250
- Nino Bellisima, New York City — $1,000.
- Haggis, Glasgow, a Domenico Crolla Restaurant — $4,200. ...
- Favitta's Family Pizzeria, Henrietta New York (near Rochester) — $8,200. ...
- Luis XIII, Salerno, Italy, a Renato Viola Creation — $12,000.

Now I don't know about you but even though I love pizza there is no chance that I'm spending $250 let alone $12,000
How about a $62 Million dollars for 2 Pappa Johns Pizzas.
On May 22, 2010 one man arranged to exchange 10,000 Bitcoin for two large Papa Johns pizzas at the time the value of all these Bitcoin is estimated to have been somewhere between $30-$41 total while at Bitcoins peak price these two pizzas represented a value of $180 million.
So what's the deal was this purchase just short-sightedness and a failure to recognize the value the pizza lover had or something more? Believe it or not despite the staggering cost pizza loving Laszlo Hanyecz actually made the worlds first real-world purchase using Bitcoin which essentially equates to proof of concept.
This first may well have been the catalyst for others to have the confidence for others to start real-world transactions using the cryptocurrency obviously leading to the growth in values that we all know today.
Faucets.
Ever googled free bitcoin or Litecoin etc?
Basically, faucets work by allowing you to claim tiny amounts of a cryptocurrency either usually either hourly or daily the amounts you can claim are almost infinitesimally small amount like 0.09-0.6 doge an hour
These days there are hundreds and hundreds of sites claiming to reward you with free crypto just by pressing a button many will never pay out, are dangerous to your computer, some are honest and make their money by advertising review but rely on built-in gambling systems and human greed to make sure very few people claim a payout.
It was a little bit different in the early days let look at the very first Bitcoin faucet for example, its this faucet that makes me think that faucet millionaires could be out there.
freebitcoins.appspot.com
Created by one Gavin Andersen this faucet was an amazing community minded project much like any number to be found here on Steemit.
To quote Gavin
For my first Bitcoin coding project, I decided to do something that sounds really dumb: I created a website that gives away Bitcoins. It is at: https://freebitcoins.appspot.com/
Five ฿ per customer, first come first served, I've stocked it with ฿1,100 to start. I'll add more once I'm sure it is working properly.
Why? Because I want the Bitcoin project to succeed, and I think it is more likely to be a success if people can get a handful of coins to try it out. It can be frustrating to wait until your node generates some coins (and that will get more frustrating in the future), and buying Bitcoins is still a little bit clunky.
Please try it out and get some free coins, even if you already have more Bitcoins than you know what to do with. You can get some and then donate them right back; the address is: 15VjRaDX9zpbA8LVnbrCAFzrVzN7ixHNsC
At this point, Bitcoin was at $0.07 so stocking it with 1,100 or a grand total of $77 of his personal stock doesn't seem like much but today that's in the range of $7 million, but take a look at that conversation these are people who have so much bitcoin that it's a little like monopoly money Here at Bitcointalk.
Isn't it amazing to look at? Now that is a community that believes in itself and wants to see it succeed we see people testing and drawing money fro the site and donating it right back and then adding some back on top.
Ultimately the site ran for a few short months before donors dried up but in that short time, you could have become a millionaire just by clicking on a button on a website once a day.
Faucet Advice.
If you are going to give faucets a go here are some quick tips.
Ensure that you have a high-quality anti-virus installed even if your on an honest site that is making their funds from advertising many of those adverts are pop-ups/unders and there is no way of telling what is embedded in those ad pages without good protection. The most common found malicious software is usually web-based mining plugins to highjack you resources to mine crypto.
Know that you're not likely to become a millionaire unless crypto values go absolutely wild crazy so don't get too excited and spend all day every day trying to press those buttons. Faucets work best for you if it can be background something you click on every now and then maybe while you write a steemit post.
Like I said nearly all faucets involve some sort of gaming system letting you bet the coins you have claimed so that they are much less likely to have to pay you out but go for it if you want after all gambling can be fun and it's better to do with the money that isn't real.
Most promise big but underdeliver so its hard t find something trust worthy.
My Pick
I have only found one place that is relatively hassling free to use and that after testing actually paid me out.
Coinpot
Collects the claims from 4 different faucets technically it's five but there is one that I don't recommend due to its page having a js miner exploit.
The upside of coinpot is that it allows collection of 4 different cryptos but has a built in exchange system so you can exchange them all to one currency to reach payout faster.
Additionally, they award you with 3 coinpot tokens each time you claim you can use these tokens in their gaming system or exchange them to the currency of your choice.
Best of all they have actually paid which is nice

Hi @shai-hulud!
I wonder whether Papa John's, or whoever received the BTC, actually banked it or spent it on? Hindsight is a great thing!
I've often thought about signing up to a faucet, and the virus worry is probably the main reason I haven't bothered. The chances of hitting the jackpot with a strong coin seem so remote, I personally prefer other ways to earn crypto like Steemit and Bit.tube.
Maybe one day I will tap into the faucet.
yeah not much chance of getting much out of it but its something I click on whenever I remember.
The pizza was a papa johns but there was a middleman that took the payment and bought the pizza out of his pocket they arranged it all on bitcoin talk
Ah yes - I vaguely remember reading about it years ago. Those were the days!
