Crypto whales appear to have returned to late activity. It's probably because the end of the year is close and many people are expecting something big to happen soon. While existing investors are moving to accumulate more, new investors in crypto space could also try their hand.

XRP is one of the biggest coins, and a lot of positive news has been going around late. Ripple, the creator company of the crypto, has tried to boost XRP adoption by various means, such as supporting XRP-focused tech startups and welcoming new customers to RippleNet and encouraging them to use XRP-based payment solutions.

The 220 million XRP was sent to an account on the Bitstamp exchange from the OTC wallet. Whose wallet the XRP was passed to was not clear, but some people suggest that Ripple may have moved the tokens worth $49 million to the exchange in anticipation for the growing crypto market.

Ripple has been known to have policy of releasing a billion coins every month , but this particular transfer does not seem to be related to it. The Ripple OTC wallet is usually used to sell directly to major customers, because making large exchange transactions will surprise the market and interrupt the price in exchangers.
