One Person's Due Diligence Can Appear As Another's FUD

Telegram and other group focus groups can be a valuable source of current sentiments and information in online communities. The caveat being there are a number of rather immature contributors offering inane comments that add no value to a serious search for information.

It is obvious that some moderators have had little or no experience performing due diligence investigations. They view reasonable questions regarding the truthfulness of a tokens' claims as FUD attacks and, regrettably, take the nuclear option of banning contributors whose only motivation is to develop better understanding. Clearly, that type of moderator has never had to face a questioning Board of Directors regarding company investment decisions. Those questions frequently deal with FUD; public claims must be debunked or defended.

I have observed people present legitimate questions seeking advice or help in a number of discussion communities. It is disappointing to see requests greeted with derision and outright insults by arrogant characters.

We all await the promise of crypto "mass adoption" to create better, more effective societies that share wealth equitably. Insulting newcomers trying to understand the new technologies does very little to encourage new entrants.

So, my message to the insufferable, arrogant tools among us is simple: it takes a few seconds to offer a helping hand or to craft a 'witty' insult. Take time to bring new members into the community to enrich everyone rather than blowing off potential contributors. Successful sales people know not to prejudge potential customers simply by the manner of their dress or speech. Be encouraging and kind and help the Cryptosphere grow.

To moderators - clearly, FUD does exist and fictional from factual claims need to be addressed, which can be easily offered from within a proactive group. To deny differing perspectives renders a discussion group a mere echo chambre that benefits no one and calls into question the integrity of the group.
