This is the first entry in a series of posts that I’ll be calling “The MunnyPot.” This column will serve as a periodic spotlight on an emerging cryptocurrency. Each post will feature a coin or token that I have tested recently. Each will be written with the primary objective of reviewing the currency's production and use features. By that, I mean specifically mining the coins and testing the software by which they are accompanied. This is an editorial type-of-thing, so be advised that it will be, at times, overflowing with my overbearing opinions and totally reliable guidance.

I don’t normally recommend my own advice. But, I seem to have markedly better judgment in the crypto space than elsewhere...

With that said, please allow me to be first in telling you :  I don’t know shit, and I’m full of it. Spoiler: No one else knows anything either - We are all figuring this out as we go. Don’t trust anyone or anything without checking the facts and critically examining for truth. In a branch of technology that pursues qualities like "trustless" and "transparent"... There should never be a need to extend yourself or your assets, in order to ascertain why or how something works. If a claim sounds too good to be true - it is. If words like "return" or "investment" are thrown around, I can almost certainly tell you: Someone else's interests are actively being preserved in place of your own. While a lot of the market is a gamble... well-conducted research and experimentation can offer knowledge. That knowledge can make the statistical probability of a payout less like a blind gamble, and more like that of an educated guess.

While this market is still young -- and let's face it, we're still at the toddler point -- it is a seller's market for worthless trinkets and grandiose ideas. At best, you will be left with regret, maybe salvaging some of your money from the fragmented pieces of your hopes and dreams that lay scattered around you. At worst, well… there’s Bitconnect. History tends to repeat itself. Be mindful.

Sifting through a market that is purely digital is risky. Insulate yourself with knowledge and experience. Research and experimentation are the only way to build resilience against the influence of emotion. Be smart. Assess Risk. Don’t invest what you aren’t willing to lose. Use common sense and critically analyze. Test the technology for yourself. Just because I tested something and wrote a positive review, should never mean I recommend believing my words blindly.

Disclaimers aside, let's talk about this column:

I will strive to maintain an informed and objective analysis in my critiques of each protocol, token, coin, or otherwise, within The MunnyPot. Any material contained herein will be bias-free to the best of my ability. Where that proves impossible, I hope to  impart horrific amounts of formative bias into your repertoire of bullshit-repellent. The key to this practice is getting down to the bottom, past the lofty claims and new tricks, to see what’s going on under the hood. I have found that a lot can be learned from stopping someone, and merely asking for clarification. Interjecting with the question: “Wait, what exactly do you mean?” is a practice that can outright dismantle some self-promotional pitches.

We are going to attempt to circumvent the annoyance of second-hand information and false promises within this column. Within The MunnyPot, you will get first-hand information about new cryptocurrencies and their associated tech. All subjects of this column will be cryptocurrencies that I have personally mined, traded, and/or tested. The undeniable truth in this market is this: without utility generated upstream (in production), any indicator of value— whether a coin, token or otherwise— can amount to nothing more than the equivalent cost of stupidity and irrational thinking Join me on my journey to see which new technologies can prove their worth.
