Western Union Announces Testing Ripple Payment Solution

The cryptocurrency market is of great interest for financial institutions, but its volatility is holding back some large institutions. However, Western Union has good news for the Ripple community - the company began testing the Ripple payment solution for international transfers.

This is reported by Ambcrypto, citing the words of Molly Shea, Western Union global money transfer manager in the Asia-Pacific region.

“We conduct tests with Ripple for certain currency pairs. One example is the US dollar and the Mexican peso. We are exploring opportunities ... the options we choose should be within the law and acceptable to consumers, ”says Shea.

She reported on testing solutions from Ripple when she was asked about her views on the blockchain and its use in remittances. The field of cryptocurrency, she said, is still evolving, and it is important to stay abreast of technological advances in order to know how to use them to achieve certain goals. Shea also noted that the physical currency "will not go anywhere."

In addition, she said that their company had invested in a fund that is searching for advanced ideas in the field of blockchain and cryptocurrency.
