Internet enabled the blockchain, now blockchain will enable the internet

The quote above from Bandz Network captivated my interest in blockchain technology becoming the technology of possibility. How time flies, it not too long we existed the 20th century, a century characterized as the father of modern technology. The man has always been the architect of his own way of life and man if not for any purpose drives at becoming the next big thing he could ever be imagined.
The search for a better and conducive lifestyle has led many men to become the greatest thing nature has ever seen through their great discoveries. From the early discovery of how to control fire and the invention of simple farm tools by the early men which ushered in the era of increase in food production and preservation, to the invention of the wheel which ushered in the era of explorations and movement beyond man’s conscious imaginations. The invention of the printing press brought about the learning era and subsequent invention of the telephone bridged the communication gap between two brothers in various locations. The invention of the internet was seen as the peak of man’s greatness since it has continued to solve his immediate problem.

Technology in a simple term is the application of science into useful tangible and intangible tools for the betterment of the man and his environment. From time immemorial before the name technology was coined man had been practicing the act without a fair knowledge of what he was actually doing. Technology has continued to better the way and manner we live our daily lives and technological advancements have shown to man how much more is yet to come.

The advancement of technology has produced a new god called the blockchain technology.

The blockchain has continued to improve and solve so many problems many had thought is impossible, particularly in the area of finance, security, employment, etc. Today steemit users can earn steem and or steem dollar through posting articles or pictures on the STEEMIT PLATFORM. Steem and steem dollar has a united state dollar equivalent so in turn, can be sold to a prospective buyer for liquid cash. So as others like Sola, enlte and many others whose rewards can be exchanged for liquid money.

The Ethereum blockchain has become a force in the crypto-currency world has it can be used to exchange and store many crpto-tokens that are compactable with the ERC-20. The first blockchain experiment the Bitcoin has become a medium of exchange in many organizations. Today one Bitcoin is worth about $6000.

The Dentcoin token enables a smartphone or internet user to recharge his or her line with a certain amount of internet data required by the user anywhere anytime. The Dent app has become a trending app amongst many internet users in today world, as many would prefer to maximize profit from their recharge. The dentcoin has a market value and users are to exchange liquid cash for the dentcoin token at the market price.

The dent project is a welcoming idea for the smartphone and internet users but it has not been able to address the poor service its user gets while using the internet, inaccessibility of the internet in remote areas or the overpaid money due to foreign exchange instability. Will there be any blockchain based services that can proffer a solution to fast internet services, easy accessibility of it crypto tokens, the user-friendly interface at little or no cost? As a Smartphone and internet user, it has become my major concern as I value my money. But don’t worry I recently discovered a blockchain based Network that can proffer a solution to all our worries. Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Old and Young, All and sundry I bring to you the Bandz.

What is BandZ?

BandZ is derived from the word "bandwidth".
Bandwidth is the measure of data that can be transferred within interlinked communication systems. To put simply, bandwidth is the amount of "internet" one can use.

The BandZ Network aims to decentralize the internet by creating a global extranet with the power of blockchain technology.

Problems about the Internet

Sure, there are many problems concerning the accessibility of the internet. One great example of it is when you go abroad and if you fail to connect with a public Wi-Fi, you will surely be forced to purchase sim cards of domestic internet providers or pay for your internet roaming services which can be very costly.

Apart from that, internet access restrictions like watching a movie or a sport that you like are still present no matter how willing you are to pay for its viewing. What’s even worse? The privacy and security of your personal data while using the internet provided by ISPs are at stake.

We cannot also deny the fact that the ISP monopolies are dominating with their own internet rules and terms, thus we are left with no choice but to accept those bad Wi-Fi signals, slow internet, and insufficient data plans, no matter how costly they are.

Now, speaking the cost, we are all aware that there is a great disparity when it comes to internet service cost across different countries. A recent study suggests that most of the cheapest broadbands were offered by the countries included in the Commonwealth of Independent States or CIS while sub-Saharan Africa countries are being charged the most expensive broadbands. In Philippines where I am currently at, the internet services are pretty expensive, which costs an average of $50 per month for a 3 Mbps average internet speed. For this reason, Philippines has been ranked 106th out of 196 countries around the world having the most expensive broadband services.

I believe one of the reasons why internet services are expensive apart from lack of electricity and other basic internet infrastructures is the continuous reign of the ISPs which serve as the centralized entities that could manipulate and dictate the internet’s prices and services within their jurisdiction. As a result, this will point out to the notion that staying connected through the internet is very expensive.

Now, how about we start adopting the decentralized way of providing internet services around the globe?

Getting Rid Of Needless Roaming Charge

Meanwhile access to internet is often restricted by geographic locality, procuring data in a foreign country rather than one's local country could be very tasking(when it comes to buying SIM card) and expensive, especially for someone that has no other option.

However, as explained in the previous section; the mesh network is an important tool to be adopted by BandZ. This helps to extend the user’s range of access.

Also, Bandwidth markets will create a lower fixed cost of hardware for ISPs and therefore,
such individuals can purchase data services at

cheaper rate. However the price of services will decrease, but the amount of services to be consumed will flourish; an advantage for ISPs.

The Problem

The increase in multimedia devices around the world is causing demand for a better utilization of all available digital resources. The current ISP industry is not suited to service this market adequately in the short term. Much of its infrastructure has to be reworked which will be timely and expensive. Morever, there is no equity in the world when it comes to Digital Literacy in general and to Digital access in particular. The Geo and Social divide is getting day after day deeper and harder to repair.

A Solution

The BandZ vision is create an ultrafast, ubiquitous, “distributedly-managed” global extranet powered by Blockchain. All of the individual peers will be their own intranets and provide each other with enterprise grade VPN security and robust internet connectivity. They will pay each other with bandwidth denominated in BandZ (the token) so that the system pays everyone within it as the members use it.
