How I Got Into The Crypto World

So, I was thinking that I should start some type of blog. The idea followed me all the time since 2010. I was searching for something that in time it builds up, and eventually it pays a little extra money.

First I went for Forex trading. And it really is a good type of income. If you really get into it deeply, one day you get good at it. I've learned all the technical mambo-jambo and it became boring. So I start looking to automate the process. It's when I found the robot trading or the EAs (Expert Advisor). If you are not familiar with this term, it is a set of rules that are compiled with a programming language in a file, attached to a chart of currency pair for example EURUSD. And the expert advisor is "watching" if the set of rules are happening, which it triggers a new market order. In couple of words is that. I tried hundreds of robots and systems (mostly free of charge) and I became more good at tweaking them, than profitable of using them. At that time I really hasn't any money that I could afford to lose.

So I decided to make a blog for tweaking robots but then I looked at the searching data in Google Trends and it was dawn of that era. The trend was going straight down. So it was kind of a dead horse already.

Then I decided that I am gonna make tutorials about how some stuff get to work in a certain way. It was the era of YouTube, around 2012-2013, when all the gaming channels were created and the gameplays were the most watched videos on the platform. But there was so many tutorials, and more professional than I could ever do, that it was dead end for me again. But at that time I learned web design just as a joke. I learned here and there small snippets that build up in time in a bigger picture. So I was thinking to start doing freelancing in web design. Creating small blogs or websites for a little extra bucks.

And at that time I realize I just want to prove myself in the digital space, not that I wanted big piles of cash... In the end as in the previous cases, I didn't make it. So I moved on.

Then I heard about something like a coin that can be mined with your personal PC and it has some sort of real value. It was Litecoin. So I went on a hunt for info about it. I opened my laptop I set the miner and the pool, although at that moment I didn't know what am I doing, and start mining. I mined for a day or two, not much in terms, I stored my coins in a wallet at my desktop, and forgot about it. At that time I start dating a girl, which we are marry now with a 5 months old child. :) At that time I was thinking only about her and nothing else. The fast forward after a couple of months, I heard something like a news or something for Litecoin, and I remembered my wallet and my stored coins, so I opened my laptop and synced the wallet. All was there untouched but with a new, greater value.

It was the moment when Genesis-Mining happened. So a bought some contracts with the mined litecoins, and began to receive Bitcoins from GM. It worked for a while, and then the service became not profitable and eventually determinated by the GM system. All the bitcoins were in Coinbase account. And it wasn't fortune, but I was happy that I moved between those spaces without hick ups. Then I forgot about it again. I was all-in in the relationship with my girlfriend.

So the years were rolling one after the other. We were tripping to different destinations. Life was cool.

Then the crypto rush appeared. People in the United States and other parts of the world, but mostly in USA people start uploading pictures and videos about their mining rigs, their farms and I was like wooow what the... I remembered my Coinbase account and there were some 60-70 dollars worth of Bitcoins. So I was thinking this is it. I want to start mining. I bought some RX470, 460, 560 and things began to build up. I was mining at home. I am also investing some of the mined coins into other coins.

I think I am a huge fan of the fundamental part of cryptocurrencies. Not that much for the money in it. Either way know how it sounds. But I believe that, the cypto (r)evolution is the next stage for human kind. Decentralizing some, if not all parts of our daily life will help us to achieve fundamental form of freedom, that can lead to more creativity, more productivity in the areas where, we were busy to live and create until now.
