What starts out as ignoring turns to mocking. Mocking then becomes dismissal. Finally, once the new idea takes firm root, the established order commits to an all-out attack to defend their interests and to destroy the challenger.

While cryptocurrencies may endure a rocky road for a time, it is hard to see how they will be completely undone. The power of currency rests in the confidence of its users; the faith people have in the issuer. The greater number of people that discover the safety, security, and ease of use of Bitcoin, Steem, and other established currencies, the more likely they survive.
