Introduction

Hi there,

I am Cryptowie from Holland and, sorry, but English is obviously not my mother-language. It was only a few months ago, that I became seriously interested in cryptospace. But I was also so cautious in relation towards the dangers of hacking , that I first wanted to try to understand something of this new world.
So I started watching YouTube-films and reading a lot about the blockchain, alt-coins, it’s risks and opportunities. I tried to get grip on the matter, the jargon, the crypto Abracadabra. In those months I didn’t invest in the cryptos and in retrospect, that was a pity. Because especially in these months, not only the value of Bitcoin and Ethereum exploded, but also the value of most of the other altcoins. And as all advisors would say, buy low and sell high. And since then hardly any serious altcoin (apart form one Saterday), has fallen. So it is hard to find a trustworthy altcoin that is low.

During the process it appears, that I got hooked at looking at the Coinmarketcap charts. Much too often, during the day. But not only that, I try to follow many Crypto YouTubers, like Jerry Banfield, whose expertise, but also enthusiasm, self-mockery, and honesty brought me to Steemit.
What a concept! Combining Social Network, blogs, flogs and crypto-earnings. Potentially Steemit can bring so many people, who normally had never entered, the universe of cryptocurrencies. Simply because they were paid in Steem. And Steem didn’t skyrocket like a lot of other currencies. Yet.
Only, there is a but, in the story. The Steemit organization made the concept so complicated, that a whole bunch of people will drop out. Why for instance, are there apart from Steem, also Steemdollars? And a lot of other questions are remaining.
To understand the system of earnings, votes, hero status, etc. you have to do a lot of homework. Fortunately there are a lot of Steemers, prepared to explain it in several articles and YouTube videos. Thanks in advance.
