I agree with you 100% IOTA is still not well known to the majority, and mostly it is because if you want to get to 'know' what IOTA is and about the community behind it, you really need to do extensive research.

However, after, the picture becomes crystal clear as you learn that people behind it have set the right path for helping the humanity at large. I will not talk here about to the projects they are building, you should do your research, but I will mention just a thing about pre-mining.

Developers and the IOTA team did something no one else did (or at least I am not aware of). After pre-mining the whole sum of IOTA-s, they distributed it at no cost to selected organizations around the globe as a gift, to give them a chance to explore IOTA and Tangle and put into practical use in their organizations. My intention is not to promote IOTA here, just want to make you curious to search on your own, and decide where you want to invest - in online casino based on crypto currency, or in projects that will matter to you and your children in nearby future. The latter one made me fall in love with IOTA
