Synereo's WildSpark: The Future Of Content Creation & Curation

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

One of the first things that you will read when you access the Synereo website is effectively the Israel based blockchain’s mission statement, which reads:

Synereo is developing tools which allow content creators to easily monetize original works without having to turn their channels into advertisment real estate, while granting their followers the opportunity to be rewarded for getting the word out

Staying true to its goals, Synereo is gradually rolling out a project that is meant to achieve the above. The name of this project? WildSpark.

What Is WildSpark?
Simply put, WildSpark is a content curation and discovery platform. In a world where everyone is producing content across a range of platforms, it is often difficult for some content producers to monetise their content. Strict monetisation rules may restrict how much producers can earn, despite them receiving thousands of views. WildSpark effectively aims to take power away from corporations such as Youtube and Facebook, and give it back to content creators and curators.

As the video mentions, the WildSpark platform is driven by the AMP token, which is the cryptocurrency issued by Synereo. The incentive system of WildSpark is straightforward, content creators are incentivised to continue producing valuable content in hopes to receive a reward in the form of an AMP payment. But as well as this, individuals i.e. curators that share content that they find valuable, also have the opportunity to earn from future AMP payments that the content creator may receive. Thus, content creators are incentivised to create, and curators are incentivised to curate.

Going Forward
As far as I am aware, no other model like the one being championed by WildSpark currently exists. WildSpark is undoubtedly a very imaginative solution to the monetisation issues experienced by many content creators. It boldly aims to challenge an incumbent revenue model that is utilised by large corporations. In an environment where Bitcoin seems to be at the forefront of the news cycle, it is important to shed light on smaller projects that are nevertheless striving to do big things. Succeed or not, the motive that drives the WildSpark project is something that we can all support and work towards making a reality.

WildSpark operates as a google chrome extension and is currently in its beta phase, check it out here.

I followed Synereo for about 1.5 years. I got really disappointed. Two years of development, coins crowd sale, then campaign on Bank Into The Future - all they got a Chrome extension and Ethereum tokens. They promised a lot more than that, like a lot more. However, the end result is a joke. There are a lot of similar extensions, the only difference is - they somehow use Ethereum based tokens. Steemit has the same functionality, but also a lot more and was a lot faster to the market.
Synereo has a very bad habit of overpromising and under delivering.
If anything, I am looking toward the RChain - led by Greg Meredith, the former CTO and Synereo co-founder. They are working kind of Ethereum 2.0 - a blockchain and a special smart contract language that will actually allow to deliver all the promises made by Ethereum.

So from my understanding, if we like the content and thinks others will as well, we support the creators by investing amps.

We then can earn by promoting the content, generating amps every time someone uses our link and invests amps into the authors content.

Sounds like a great system to bring attention and well deserved rewards to creators, but it will only work if like any crypto, the community backs it.

I love how Steemit rewards content creators and want to support this community and others just like it with the same goal. Deff worth checking out and investing, thanks for the Info!

Love to see comments encouraging community on Steemit! Movin' on up the thread with an UPvote!

Aoprcitate you commentwealth!

My only question is who will want to buy Amps and tip the authors and then maybe get rewards.

Yest it is a gamble. It should be more like steem where you reward the author, but curators should have some interest in doing so.

I think Synereo will be the rival of Steemit when it comes to giving rewards to its community. But i will want to definitely look for its whitepaper when it comes to distribution of rewards. Is it from the blockchain or from the users that are willing to tip the content creator? There are things that needs to be answered by the developers to attract people. Am I right @adsactly?

Yes, we also have several questions about this project.

Very interesting stuff. I'll look into this a bit more now. Thanks!

ooooh i wish if you can explain more about WILDspark please.
and good post really .

Thank you for sharing. I had a look at the website and the intro video. Looks very good.
If I understand it correctly the website is not a sharing platform. Sharing is done via links were the curator and the creator earns from it. So you must have existing channels to promote the links.

Good info. Steemit rival ?

hay @adsactly I am on wildspark too. Some features missing like being able to search for someone and a dashboard showing all your amps spent and earned with the link....but I love it

here is my latest amp....whats yours?
