EOS Blockchain running once again after yesterdays disaster!
The recently launched EOS mainnet had sort of a hiccup yesterday June 16th after "technical difficulties" were detected on the network that prevented block producers from producing said blocks. The network was put to a total stop since no new blocks could be produced.
Today June 17th the EOS blockchain is back up and running after a patch was issued by Block.one. The issue was addressed by both Block.one and the Block Producers over a conference call, which kind of puts to doubt just how centralized EOS is, when it has to wait for a company to issue a patch that was though of over a conference call with just a few people after advertising itself with the motto "Decentralize Everything".
As Jackson Palmer (Dogecoin creator and crypto analyst) said, this is another one of those moments in which it is hard not to be critical of the most funded project ever in crypto, having raised more than $4 billion USD in ICO, and now being the 5th largest cryptocurrency by market cap.
