I was reading into the matter and it has a lot to do with customers returning to buy upgrades of graphics cards to power new games and building a life long relationships with these people so they don't go to the other competitor or even console gaming systems like Xbox. While I'm sure that they absolutely loved the stock boost they received last year from all the sales they too recognize that if sales to miners taper off than they won't see these people coming in for upgrades because it is just about profitability, not brand loyalty. And they were also discussing the fact that every card that goes to a miner (and sometimes it can be tens or hundreds of cards) is one less of these potential lifetime loyal customers.
