With the recent downtrend in the crypto world, one might wonder how to profit from this volatility. Then again you may want to protect from an even bigger slide. Either way here are five ways to short Bitcoin;
- Futures: Now that Bitcoin in mainstream on CBOE and CME, buying or selling a futures contract is now an option.
- Direct Margin Trading: Use a crypto exchange like Bitfinex to short on margin.
- Bitcoin Investment Trust: There is a non-futures product now available on OTC under the ticket GBTC.
- Nadex Spreads:: The North American Derivatives exchange offers binary options and spreads related to Bitcoin.
- Blockchain Related Stocks: This is more for the crypto market as a whole, there are several stocks like Riot Blockchain (RIOT), Long Blockchain (LTEA) and Longfin (LFIN) that you can short at your liking.
