Top 8 resources to get started and stay ahead in cryptocurrency world
This post is to help the curious to get started researching and investing in cryptocurrency with my list of some of the best resources and experts to learn from.
What is cryptocurrency?
Digital money. Cryptocurrencies run on blockchain technology which provides a de-centralised system of tracking and verifying transactions on a global basis. It's possible to send and receive at any time to any location. Fees are less than traditional payment transfer methods and it offers more control over your personal finances. Whilst prices are volatile people have been and have the potential to make massive returns on their investment.
Like with the web in the 90's, companies are constantly being birthed to provide new more effective ways of doing things. As with the 90's, these applications have not fully ripened in terms of user experience but the reward potential is high for those who can spot the Googles and Amazons of the future.
Bitcoin is to cryptos what Banksy was to the graffiti art movement. It is powered by the hive mind of some of the brightest developers on the planet and an unrivalled global grid of computers.
Here's an overview to whet your appetite and get context:

Once you're ready to take that first step, here's what I recommend you do:
Buy some bitcoin - just a part of 1 coin at Coinbase.com
Start small. The key is to step over the line into ownership.
You'll need to verify yourself for anti-money-laundering when setting up account. Passport picture for example.
If you're in UK, you'll need a bank account that can do SEPA payments.
Send transfer of Euros to the account they name.
Use the Euros to buy and then store initially in your Coinbase vault.

Everyone I know recommends getting your coins off an exchange and into your own hands. The journey of cryptocurrency involves taking sovereignty and security over our wealth.

By the way, this site Steemit is powered by cryptocurrency and a blockchain de-centralised platform. If you like what you've seen and are logged in, you can upvote and I'll receive Steem coins as a result. How cool is that?
