Ruff: The blockchain IoT Operating System

in #cryptocurrency6 years ago

First off, I’m a crypto enthusiast who likes to discover projects I either find interesting or potentially profitable. I’ll start off with a caveat that all views expressed are mine personally and any investments which are made after reading my material is done so at your own risk.

Around a month ago, I wrote an article on Ruff Chain, an IoT based Operating System, built on the Javascript programming language with blockchain technology. You can view the article here;

Recap of Ruff

Ruff was founded in 2014 with the vision of creating an operating system for developers to interact with IoT devices. The Operating System would be built around the ever so popular Javascript programming language. Fast forward 2 years of development and Ruff OS was released. 1 year later in 2017, Ruff released Ruff Chain, this came with the vision to use blockchain technology to marry with IoT, to capture the economic vale of large data sources. Since this time, the team have released an SDK (Software Development Kit), drivers and boards to work with. You can view and download/purchase the following from the below link;

The team behind Ruff is extremely talented and have house a group with experience from such names as Nokia, Philips and AliPay. This is headed up by impressive CEO Roy Li who has won an award for being the best CEO in blockchain … Not a bad award to have behind you hey?

The latest on Ruff

The latest news from the team and a big statement of intent on August 18th as they officially announced that after 6 months in research and development, they released their first LoRa wireless collector. The purpose of the LoRa collector is to aid the collection of on-chain data. The device itself, which is named RWTi1000 features data transmission which can work with long distances, has low cost data consumption, is resistant to interference and is extremely reliable with highly sensitive data. Along with on-chain data collection, the RWTi1000 also supports two-way data transmissions.

Recent events

On August 7th, Ruff CEO Roy Li took part in a Live YouTube interview with the Crypto Love channel. It’s well worth a watch as they go over the project, the roadmap, how Ruff differentiate from other IoT projects and many more points. You can view the interview here;

Ruff CMP Jing Tianwei participated in the ‘Shanghai Stanford Alumni AMINO Talks Series & Silicon Valley Blockchain Artificial Intelligence Project Exchange’ event on August 9th with a speech called ‘Why are we creating a Public Chain in IoT’.

Future Events

August 25th will see Ruff CEO attending the ‘Global Blockchain Technology Conference 2018’. This is an event which will be looking at blockchain algorithms, architecture and industry programs. This is due to be in great demand as many top lecturers and VC funds. This is a great chance for networking and investment.

September 7th and 8th will see more than 15,000 attendees at SLUSH in Shanghai where Ruff has been invited to discuss the integration value of IoT and blockchain.

Summary

Ruff have been making great progress, both in their product and their marketing. The team have been working hard on developments and new releases whilst they’re attending top conferences to discuss their project and IoT in general.

The team look to have a great balance between hard work and good atmosphere. Ruff recently published an article about their team and office, it’s well worth checking out at the following link;
