I feel that the average intelligence level on Steemit is arguably higher than other social media platforms. For a start, it is much less well known than Facebook/Twitter and also more of a faff to get set up and approved.
Therefore the quality of crypto related content is far higher than the human cesspit that is Facebook. Here are 6 of the dumbest, most ill-conceived comments I've seen so far:
Number 1
Wow! This argument drives me completely up the wall. Often when you try to critique a shitcoin, you are presented with this type of comment that you must be bitter because you missed the massive gains! It's a fallacy, Tron made people a lot of money, doesn't mean the project behind it isn't garbage. Also, note the inconsistent use of punctuation, it says a lot.

Yes the second most established cryptocurrency project in history is a shitcoin...The levels of stupidity here hurt my brain deeply.

Well we all know how this panned out, paying Pornhub to accept their crypto did not send Verge's price "to the moon".
Numbers 4 & 5
General low level hate with no analysis provided. Regardless as mentioned above, shitcoins can still generate profits for an investor, does this make them a bad investment?

Right so an 80% price drop is: "just the beginning of the downtrend"?

Yes these people that display a bit too much fervor and not enough logic and experience to go with how things of value are swapped, even on their way up. You can hang on to something you like and never sell it, that may be a great idea for you. But don't eat someone's lunch is perhaps more knowledgeable than you buying and selling the dips and taking some advantage of the volatility. Well said, I also like the person that talks about something they want to happen, but they talk as if it has already happened and their brain can't get around the reality it has not happened. You may be luckier than me and not encounter these people. IF you do just walk backwards slowly and scan the room for an exit.
Haha there’s so many people who have ridden a bull run and earned a modest profit that suddenly think they’re TRADING GODS who can perfectly day trade huge market volatility (on margin) but then inevitably get rekt.
I think you are being a little harsh :). There is equally stupid content on steemit. I have found quality stuff being discussed on reddit and twitter. YouTube vlogs are primarily junk. I have never used fb to discuss anything crypto related. Telegram also has a few good channels.
I think most social media channels are equally balanced. Its always going to be easy to find noise on platforms that are bigger but steemit has its fair share of stupid posts. Just look at any ico reviews/news compilations/cut copy paste opinion pieces. Or just read through comments on trending posts. Some pockets of steemit are echo chambers for "blockchain is the ultimate answer for all problems faced by mankind" opinion. But then there gems over here as well.
And sometimes people write in haste. They aren't able to communicate the idea well. May be i am in an optimistic frame of mind right now so i dont want to call stupid, stupid.
Undoubtedly we do find some crazy people in this universe.😂
