1.0 - The Cryptoexplainr - Why am I here?

Unless you have been sleeping under a rock for the past few months, I'm sure most of you by now have heard of the mega trend 'Cryptocurrencies' if not then Bitcoin. It's in the news, on social media, and your work colleague Dave is now an expert on the subject, so much so that you're sick and tired of his ramblings on why Trumpcoin is "Gunna be huge".

The truth is, there are only a handful of people in the world who are experts on the matter and the majority of people are fairly misinformed, to be honest, I don't blame them. The internet is littered with pages upon pages of information on any topic, add the complexity of crypto and BAM! The perfect storm for a headache!

I've been looking into 'The Space' (a popular term coined for the cryptocurrency community as a whole) since mid-2017, at first I was scared! What was this new thing? Why has it come around? And how does it affect me? I'm sure some of you have felt the same way. That's why I decided to start this blog series 'The Cryptoexplainr'. Why? Because I fantasize about being some sort of digital superhero, Batman 2.0?.....Maybe. But more to the point, I strongly believe cryptocurrency & the blockchain is about to change the world as we know it, and if you haven't done so already it probably wouldn't do you any harm to get informed.

We use the internet every day, texting through WhatsApp, binging on Game Of Thrones or uploading photos of your perfectly poached eggs to Instagram. Though ask yourself could you explain to someone how the internet really works? My point is here that like the internet you don't need to have a Ph.D. in computer science to understand the use cases of cryptocurrencies. It doesn't have to be difficult I promise.

I must make it clear, I'm not a 'techy', I can't code and to be honest I'm still unsure of how to use excel. Though I do have a passion for emerging technologies that have the ability to change our lives.

I'm guessing if you have read this far, you're probably interested in learning more, and like most, want to know how you could profit.
