When I first heard about winkPark, I immediately thought about Waze. They have very similar concepts. As you may probably know, Waze offers user-submitted travel times and route details. It is basically drivers are helping drivers. The same is true for winkPark, but this time it is all about parking.

First things first; let me start by saying winkPark has an established website and Android app:

Now they are running an ICO to advance winkPark. Their Softcap is $ 4,500,000 and their hard cap is $ 85,000,000.

Their roadmap image above answers one of the most important questions about winkPark; their IOS app is coming in Q1 2019. Without an IOS version, I personally could not vouch for an app since we are in an era of 2 mobile operating systems, both being crucial. Actually, I am really satisfied with their roadmap, every quarter contains a remarkable plan. Like integration with IoT, rental functionality, own cryptocurrency etc.

Now let's talk about the functionality of the app. How does it operate? Firstly it is safe to say the heart of the system is GPS, like all the location-based apps winkPark uses GPS to locate you and your parking space target on the map. The good thing is GPS works globally and 24/7. It is a great technology that we should all be thankful for.

As a user, you can mark available parking spaces on the map or you may be about to leave from a parking space and let the community know about this. Likewise, you may the one looking for a parking space and on the map, you can see empty parking spaces marked by other users. Reserving this space is also possible.

There is also a social aspect to winkPark. As it is a collaboration app, you are in a way socializing with other users. You can send them virtual winks, virtual high fives for example. After all, you are going to help each other find parking spaces, it is appropriate to show your gratitude.

Finding a parking space is a real problem in our modern, busy cities. Using technology to soften this problem makes real sense in my opinion. The team behind this idea deserves a high five!
