Monero will be redundant soon

Lightning network will eradicate the need for other alternative cryptocurrency

One prime example is the anonymity coin 'Monero'. When Lightning network released a technology that could do MAST (smart contracts), atomic swaps (bypassing exchanges and settling transactions peer to peers).

It became apparent that this technology could see the end of many alt coins

Monero vs Bitcoin

Monero is an anonymous cryptocurrency that resolves the pseudo anonymous limitation of Bitcoin. Bitcoin has an open ledger that reveals how much bitcoin was sent to an address. Dissecting this information could vive away spending habits.

Lightning network is making Monero sweat

Monero could introduce Lightning.... Sometime in the future?

The questions are being asked by the community, but fluffy poney is being a bit vague by not saying yes or no. But rather than giving a realistic answer the response is of future possible, possibilities.

Let's get real

It will not happen in time. And why would you wait for Monero, if Lightning network will anonymise transactions with atomic swaps in the not so distant future. It will only show the first and last transaction in the blockchain. If you have thousands or millions of transactions not saved to the blockchain, you've got pretty good anonymity.

The price is still holding strong

Comparing Litecoin to Monero, it doesn't seem like much contest if you're looking for Anonymity. Litecoin, just like Bitcoin holds the same privacy issues. But while we focus on the now, developers are working hard implementing Lightning network on Litecoin. It won't be long till it's implemented on the Bitcoin. Then where will Monero be?

Does this price difference seem like a reasonable representation of long term value?

Multisig is supported with version 0.12.0.0, so Level2 is to come. With Monero you have chosen a bad example. Monero is the only coin that has no problems to stand out from other Altcoin. Those who have bet on transactions speed will lose to the lightning network. But Monero offers privacy at Level1. Also, the monero dev have understood the unix philosophy. The monero daemon just takes care of the blockchain and the wallet just handles the private key ..kovri takes care of privacy on the ip layer. <- Nerds love this concept.
