PlexCoin "the next cryptocurrency" confirmed scam

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

I made a post on Reddit warning people about the dangers of the new Cryptocurrency "PlexCoin" but unfortunately it has not received much attention. Please share my article and warn your friends about this scam!

Recently, there has been a new ICO launched by PlexCorps going by the name of PlexCoin, which has promoted itself quite successfully over the internet. After investigating their website, which seemed to provide claims too good to be true, I decided to investigate further into this ICO and have discovered it to be most likely a scam. My research follows below:

  • Unlike many previous successful ICOs, PlexCoin's website has no mention of any sponsors or any information on their development team at all
  • The PlexCoin and PlexCorps domains are both registered with domain privacy protection (business data is hidden in WHOIS lookups) - a reputable, honest business should not have to do this
  • Their whitepaper is not available until after their pre-purchase period is finished and refunds are only allowed within the pre-purchase period
  • I, personally, have inquired about the above issues at PlexCoin's Facebook page (which did not have a messaging option) with a comment only to find it deleted 4 hours later, most probably because they do not know how to reply to it as their operation is most likely a scam.

In conclusion, this new ICO by the name of PlexCoin, while gaining fairly large community appraisal (as can be seen by the sheer number of backers) is most probably another ICO scam like the many that have happened before. It would be great if you could share the article on this matter before it is too late and money is lost.

Reviving this because the SEC is coming for these guys: https://www.sec.gov/news/press-release/2017-219

Looks like you may be vindicated @enkrypton

Well.. Do be honest they will release the whitepaper a day before the pre-sale begins.

Also they stated: "In order to secure the first buyers, we have set a point of no return. If after the 29 days of pre-sale we did not reach this threshold, then all buyers will be fully repaid."

So 29 days.. But that's true, that they have no sponsor list, but if it turns out that they are legitimate, they can revolutionize the cryptocurrency usage as we know it.

I remain open minded but sceptical. You can write them an email(I did already, issuing a few concerns): [email protected]. They answered me within a day.

Also answered on facebook within 4 hours and on their webpage they answered within 10 minutes. The website chat.
They have alot of legitimacy sings but at the same time, absence of the whitepaper and super-high profit rate are alarming. As I mentioned, I will remain sceptical but open-minded.

The whitepaper comes out Aug 4th. Maybe it will shed some light. I was told in 2009 that BTC was a scam. Wish I would have done my own research and not went with the negative hype back then.
Be careful but I for one will be reading that whitepaper.

Plexcoin can be bought with credit card, so its a secure crypto to buy at this time.

its a known scam, not safe.

@enkrypton You have done well to inform us. There was another ICO launching that I raised alarms about. People ignored me then. A few weeks down the line, it went burst. There was a mysterious hack on their wallet.

A few years ago I came across Bitcoin and didn't bother paying attention to it. Now its more than $2500. This time I'm setting aside some for Plexcoin. I suggest investing an amount you are willing to lose. It may be a risk worth taking. :)

I have checked them out as well, very most likely a scam.

Why do you say that? Clarify and factual details and post any referential data you used to conclude that they are a scam. And then refer to my post to danhendleyphoto above. Let us be the critical thinkers for ourselves...

This was debunked as a scam months ago. have fun getting robbed! maybe reach out to visa and see they have never heard of plexcoin, their domain had been shutdown due to FRAUD in canada

do your research on the coompany backing this
DL Innov inc., Gestio inc. and Dominic Lacroix

you'll thank us later when your money isn't stolen by greed!

oh really? October 13 is five days away. We will see.

The thing really is one needs to do a thorough research on these guys. Remember Karbon? very similar to plexcoin.
Karbon was promoted by one vitaly ovin. I should have Google searched him. anyways, I sent them my BTC and promptly they vanished from cyberspace. ICOs are a risky venture, but if you follow the team promoting the ICO, you will make an informed decision to invest or not. Do your research.

To be fair, do not invest money that you can't afford to lose.
If you have extra, then try it. If it vanishes like air, then it is a lesson worth noting for. Stay positive but stay smart! :)

Ye guys, btc and plexcoin are not even close in terms of complexity and offer, this guy did the right thing but if you go around thinking that sending non-reversible money to some random people on the internet on this ICO that have not revealed their identity.. yes, good luck.
