Ripple's CEO Brad Garlinghouse will be on CNBC Fast Money with Coinbase President/COO Asiff Hirji to discuss Cryptocurrency. Will Ripple be added to Coinbase after this meeting!? Plus more news about Ripple will be talked on the show. Make sure you stay tuned!

Right now Coinbase offers only five cryptocurrencies to purchase and trade on its listings—Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin, plus Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum Classic. Their decision to not include XRP—which has a higher market cap than three of the five Coinbase-listed coins—has been heavily criticized by the cryptocurrency community.

Ripple was developed in 2012, with a design intended to carry out interbank settlements and payments. The team has worked hard towards this grand vision, hoping to see the volatility of the market for cryptocurrencies eased through structured sales processes and the use of Ripple.

The team originally developed 99 billion XRP, which raised around $38 billion from global sales. In May 2017, Garlinghouse revealed the conclusion of plans to move 55 billion XRP into an escrow account, then release one billion into the general market. And the recent gains of the cryptocurrency are indicative of growing confidence in its development.

Currently, there is a greater volume of discussion surrounding Ripple (XRP) than there was for its rival Bitcoin Cash when it was first added to the Coinbase roster. The value of the crypto came in at around $2.50 when the talk of Coinbase first started, making it very affordable for beginners and the average trader. In January, it even hit levels of $3 to $3.50. However, the price of Ripple (XRP) when it does arrive on Coinbase is expected to be around $5, thanks to the inflating sense of confidence around its design and makeup.

Coinbase may be adding Ripple (XRP) and if this does, that would be crazy. Ripple has more than 100 banks recruited on its RippleNet platform. A consortium of Japanese banks has also taken it up for testing, along with other notable global banks like RBC, Bank of America and UBS.

It’s probably not a coincidence that ninety new employees will be added to Coinbase on Monday while on Tuesday Garlinghouse and Hirji make a joint appearance on Fast Money.

The final analysis is that with somewhere near 14 million users, Coinbase adding XRP to its trading platform would further establish XRP as a major contender in the cryptocurrency market, and would likely lead to XRP gains in value.

Melissa Lee is the host of CNBC’s Fast Money, which airs at 5pm Eastern Time from Monday to Friday—a show that’s set at the Nasdaq’s MarketSite studio in New York’s Times Square. Typically, Fast Money provides information and interviews that are relevant to Wall Street investment, so featuring cryptocurrency stalwarts like Garlinghouse and Hirji is somewhat of a divergence.

Whether this week, will turn out to be the magical week that XRP holders have been waiting for is still on the air, but rest assured, by the time that Garlinghouse and Hirji are featured on Fast Money on Tuesday, there will be plenty for them to talk about relating to the future viability of both of the companies, whether Ripple (XRP) finds a listing on Coinbase or not. Ultimately, this is all very good news for XRP.
