Rapper ‘The Game’ is the latest celebrity to promote an ICO
Rapper ‘The Game’ is the latest celebrity to promote an ICO it seems, he's listed on the advisory board of Paragon Coin under his government name 'Jayceon Terrell Taylor'.
No cryptocurrency hype cycle is complete without a celebrity appearance it seems. Mike Tyson, 50 Cent, Floyd Mayweather Paris Hilton and many other celebrities have gotten involved in cryptocurrencies, either accepting them as a form of payment or appearing at sponsored events hosted by their advocates. Dennis Rodman recently went on a human rights expedition to North Korea at behest and funding of PotCoin.
Speaking of PotCoin, there's now a new, ICO of a similar nature is in the near future. Jessica VerSteeg (former Miss Iowa 2014) is the CEO of something called Paragon Coin, which from what we understand is some form of marriage between the cannabis industry and cryptocurrency.
No cryptocurrency hype cycle is complete without interesting celebrity appearances. Speaking of PotCoin, it seems a new, mysterious ICO of a similar nature is in the near future. Miss Iowa 2014 Jessica VerSteeg is apparently the CEO of something called Paragon Coin, which from what we can tell is some kind of marriage between the cannabis industry and cryptocurrency.
There currently isn't much information about what Paragon Coin will actually do and what purpose it will serve, but references to marijuana are blatant. We're invited to be “part of something great.” We can only currently find an empty blog, a Facebook page full of cryptocurrency links and a brief video with rapper the Game and VerSteeg.
Something of a problem is there's already a coin out there called Paragon Coin, relating to the Playstation game Paragon. We all know how friendly the entertainment industry is when it comes to intellectual property infringement.
The Stox ICO (pumped by Floyd Mayweather on social media*) held a very successful funding round earlier this year. While long term investors in the cryptocurrency market probably find it funny that celebrities are entering the market in droves now, it’s worth being more careful of things which are based purely on hype.
*We're still trying to work out if Mayweather actually understood anything about the ICO and it's fundamentals, we're just going to assume it was a paid advert, as we know he couldn't have read the whitepapers.
