Komodo is a fork of Zcash with a unique delayed proof of work consensus mechanism. The advantage of dPoW is that you get the high security of Bitcoin without needing the gargantuan hash rate. Besides just having a secure, energy-efficient blockchain, there is a lot more to this ambitious project.
Komodo is in the top 10 for most activity on Github, currently in #1 position.

Decentralized Exchanges are the future for cryptocurrencies. The problem with current exchanges is that they use a voucher system. When you trade, you're not actually trading Bitcoin for Ethereum, you're trading a BTC voucher for an ETH voucher. Because crypto-world isn't highly regulated, exchanges don't always have enough crypto on the exchange if everybody was to pull their money out. They rely on liquidity pools. I highly recommend you read or skim-read their whitepaper to learn more about this amazing project. The Crypto landscape is constantly changing and most of my top picks for 2018-2020 are platforms. There is so much competition right now for dAPPS and "value-transfer only coins", its hard to predict which ones will come out on top. High-quality platforms like Komodo are much more stable and are more likely to go up in value imo. I don't think Ethereum will continue to dominate the ICO space for much longer. NEO and Stellar have already started to have ICO's on their platforms. When Komodo rolls BarterDEX its going to be a huge value-add for the crypto community! I resonate highly with their values of Freedom and Privacy, it's obvious from their whitepaper that this has been integrated into their entire strategy.

Komodo seems to be the choice of a few lately. You are 100% correct in your view to the current market price. Recent volatility has pushed the price of most coins under what I would determine their actual value.
When the rubber band that we know to be the 2018 crypto market is let go there are some coins that are going to snap upward. I'm with you in thinking that Komodo could easily be amongst the pack.
Yes, it's been a weird start to this year. A rubber band is a great analogy for what I think is going to happen. For some of the less meaningful tokens the rubber band is going to break and many won't be bouncing back. I'm really focused on quality control right now. Thanks for your comments. : )

I agree I think 2018 will be a purge of sorts for a lot of coins, like highlander, "only the strong will survive" (I may need to be fact checked on the analogy though, it was a late night)
