What is Your Favorite Actively Traded Crypto Currency for the Rest of 2017?

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Today a Peer Asked Me, "Randy what is your favorite active Crypto Currency for the rest of 2017".

I did not even flinch and said, "Stratis". We have been accumulating Stratis since early May when one of my friends pointed out to me that they are meeting every development benchmark on their roadmap. This is a great sign since we have been let down by dev teams repeatedly over the years when they promise a Ferrari and deliver a Ford Pinto.

So I spent May trading my Stratis and now we are 100% in the money enjoying this wild ride. As I said in my post, "My Three Big Crypto Currency Trades for June.", I will not be selling my Stratis. We recently had a very nice pullback where I decided to buy a few BTC more worth of Stratis with profits from other trades.

I believe another big price move will be when the dev team delivers the Breeze wallets with built in tumblers. I don't know what the price will be in December but I have my fingers crossed for $50-$80 as long as they continue to hit the goals on their roadmap below and the world of Crypto Currencies does not take an unforeseen hit.

What are Your Top Crypto Currency Picks for the Rest of 2017?

I know many of you will choose Steem and Bitshares since we are on a platform that heavily leans to that development team but it would be nice to hear some objective opinions of projects other dev teams are working on.

Sort:

It's good to see posts like this that get input from everyone. I'm going to go out on a limb, but NXT and LSK for the next few months.

LSK was the best performing ICO I ever took part in as far as profit. If that was possible every time I would buy into every one.

Wouldn't that be nice!

agree with you... sadly from my country I don't have direct access to any crypto currency...

Pivix and Ark have a lot of potential.

I own Ark also.

Nenio, why Ark or Pivix? Would love to hear your thoughts. Trying to get into some smaller cryptos right now.

Pivx is a fork of dash, and it is PoS and uses the masternode model of dash. If you see the price chart, and its price has drop a lot. The technology of Ark is interesting.
There are many sites that explain in detail these coins.

Thanks! It's hard to find wallets that provide these coins without having to download the entire blockchain. It's too bad.

what is the best wallet after jaxx? i need one asap

I like Coinapult for a BTC wallet.

For BTC, I like Electrum.

For BTC I personally like Airbitz. :)
For ETH, Golem and others I like Exodus

Jaxx got robbed recently. Switched over to Exodus personally. Desperately looking for a wallet that carries small time cryptos.

i know..you're not happy with exodus?

I'm loving Exodus so far, just wishing it carried more cryptos. I want to get into Ark and a few other smaller coins without downloading the ENTIRE blockchain.

Well, this is always the case for medium and low cap coins. BTW for pivx, is possible to download the blokchain in compressed format.

Yeah, I just hope the infrastructure grows to be more convenient over the next few months. The time is definitely now considering the dramatic growth in the cryptomarket.

Have to go with a hardware wallet like a Ledger Nano S. Great piece of kit, regardless of the amount of crypto's you own.

no idea about them....

I'd go with Bitshares. A lot of movement already the last couple weeks, but still so much upside left.

I made a good deal with that move as well. I actually don't know much about it except that it was Dan's original project.

I expect big things from BTS and OBITS, which is the profit-share token for OpenLedger... a BTS dex.

Most of this year I've been just holding my favorites. Monero, dash, litecoin, steem.

I like those

I don't agree with Litecoin. I don't think it is going up soon.

Litecoin has now become a "safe" play - not the most profitable play. So, if you want to make ridiculous returns, the formula remains buy a low price coin where small changes in price are magnified to produce large percentage moves. Risky, but potentially rewarding.

Yes, but you should pick a coin that has good fundamentals. Otherwise, it is sheer gambling. I have written some posts about that. Take a look at them.

Great post, man.

I'm longEST on Siacoin. I love the tech and potential. Boatload of upside.

But Stratis has, like you said, delivered.

I was holding Siacoin for a few weeks but it was doing nothing so I gave up. I will be back when the action gets going.

wow u cant think like that!
i was lucky and got in to siacoin when i started getting into everything on poloniex back in march! i sen a few bucks and got over 30,000 siacoins! still have em on my sia UI! its amazing u can rent out a terabyte hard drive and earn siacoins that way wth terabte rigs like minig but with hard drives so coool!!

but u cant justwait for siacoin to pick up! u have to buy now! and ur crazy siacoinHAS performed!

u cant just wat for it to startgoing up! u have to just geet innow and stay!

U were holding for a few weeks but it was doing nothing so u gave up man u have to stay with it!

buy siacoin and forget aboout em !

i left 30,000 siacoins in the siacoin walllet program and they went from five bucks to 800 bucks!

seriously just buy siacoins nxtcoins bytecoins all super cheap and abbot to be 11 cent then1 dollar!!

dude u need to just buy ur siacoinsback! trsut me!

and u can run siacoin program an rent out ur extra hdd space and thats another way u can just earn ur siacoins!

soru for my atttdue im justreal pasionaite abot siacoin!

imagienhen siacoinhas android and iphone appp to inregtate loke icloud storage anbe an option for ur google drivce etc!

I own Storjcoin and have done ok with it. But, long term, I am not sure I understand why these storage coins should do well. If they go up a lot then why would people buy storage there instead of traditional places? Still not sure about this space.

when planning to buy SIACOIN in larger quantity as discussed here. What is the safest way to store those coins? So that I don't have a large amount just sitting on poloniex? Also, where can I find out more about this hard drive mining of Siacoin? thanks for the info. followed.

only way to store them so far is the sia UI or the poloniex or bittrex walet
honestly whats wrong with poloiex? lol with all the talk of the unsecure wallets like millions being stolen from jaxx walet desktop progam etc, i am just realizing moe and moe that an experience exchangelike Poloniex can pprobobly keep your coins afer than most of us ever could!

Ad sure theres lots of people who have the polonieex horror story but alot of them are trolls hired by competing excanges, honestly they doo that alot! SOme insiders admitted on some pst how they make up lies aboout other echanges freezing accounts etc

and yeah poloniex had bad support buttheyre working through all the support tickets as we speak! and ost veryone has had their issues solvd! poloniex eve pays peopel backk when stop limit orders go wrong etc i mean honestly if someone DID steal ur coins from poloniex, they simply mke enough mony to actually have the money to pay you back!

see what i mean? Its like a common sene thing for me, that as long as you have your 2fa on polonix and have your email confrmation you should be good! i ever have anymore than a few hundred bucks worth of any one altcoin!

also split up your siacins some in bittrex some in poloniex some in the siaUI wallet

i have to be honest that i have 30,000 siacins siimply stuck in my sia UI wallet.and my laptop has not enough ram to run the sia program! LOl its a 2009 laptop so its not sias fault they eve apologized to me on the forum and explaind how theyd come out with newer version but tat i just need 8Gb of ram, an sia runs fine if u have 8gb of ram...but yeah its a GREAT thing i couldnt open up my siawallet! I sent siacoins to the sia UI wallet and i could never re penit and sync up cuz i didnt have enoygh ram but my coisn are perfectly safe! i have the wallet backup file and string of words so i can just leave them there

its almost like a per walllet because i ave the string only stoed o apper writtendown!

ok thats not a per wallet butyeah just stoe your siacoins in the poloniex or biittrex wallets

ut will be fine!

u can use siacoin UI but make sure ur compter is new anfast or has 8gb or ram!

if i didnt have that problem tho i would have never kept y cons for that long! i woulda sold em for some other altcoin before i knew any better!

but yeah im really glad ii bought siacoin and i even talked to a guy who told me about his siacoin rig that made him a few thousnd bucks a month! he had to have may many terabytes running in a special hard drive case but really cool ! siacoin has gone up so much tho that used to be five bucks to get thee 30,000 siacoins u neededto start a siacoin storage server, but now 30,000 siacoins is several hundred dollars but its ok peopel will paythat much to start making mony off a sia ig , multiple peopel will pool sia together to run sia hard rive farms

its gonan be HUGE theres gonan be ALOT of siacoin serves popping up as an alternative t bitcoin mining!

i see. Noted. Thank for the reassuring advice Mr Williams

Not a bad return at all!

Yeah, I did that with quite a few other currencies...NXT is the one I held for a few weeks, then sold because it wasn't doing squat.

Absolutely Siacoin, the team is great, the got a growing community and a working product. The thing they lack is good marketing or marketing at all. If that hits, I see a top 10 space or at least a 1 billion marketcap in the not too distant future. Then there is still the possibility that in the future some big corporates will use the technology, which will push it even further.

I'm hosting with Sia myself and love it - accumulate the coins as long as they are cheap :)

Stratis has great potential and the fact it is still on the top 10 on Coin Market Cap gives it great marketing

It has definitely been resilient for the last month.

bitcoin due to it's high volatility,

I sure can't argue with that. A person could make a decent living just trading BTC volatility.

DASH, until Evolution is released. I suspect if it offers the features advertised, it will be the first crypto capable of being understood by the mainstream. It is also amazing to me how a small portion of block rewards diverted to marketing and paying developers can make such a difference in getting s*** done. Never forget that 4.5mil of the 7.3mil coins are locked in master nodes and will not be getting "dumped" any time soon, this shows a committed foundation of users.

I have the psychological aversion to investing in something I missed out on. I owned a bunch of Dash up until December but bailed. Then of course it went to the moon. : (

Me too :(

Ethereum seems like it's going to be a really nice ride and has been so far.

It sure has been!! I still get excited when I see it blast off lol . . I don't think will ever get old as long as I am holding Eth.

Same here! Just lots of fun watching it! I pick up a little here and there as it rises. Waiting for a major pullback but no such thing as of yet. It's up and down a bit here and there but nothing IMO major. There's lots of talk of the "bubble" it's in popping but I think it'll have its set backs like anything else and over time continue to rise. The talk that peaks my interest most, and it's just talk, is it over taking BTC by the end of the year? Any thoughts on that? Anybody?
