Warning (cryptomania)

Do you think that trading in cryptocurrencies is an easy way to make money? You are very much at risk!
In this post I will consider all the perspectives of cryptocurrency (by bitcoin example).

a. This is a very young market. Instability of even serious trading platforms; collapse of the exchanges: Mt.Gox - 2013-2014; Igot; Youbit; BTC-e; Bitfinex – 2017.

b. A perfect example of the uncertainty of an expert in the field of investing in cryptocurrency:
b1. Boris Schlossberg of BK Asset Management has joined the cadre of investment advisors who see bitcoin as a way for investors to hedge their bets against market uncertainty. Schlossberg, according to CNBC, sees bitcoin as an addition to an investment portfolio in the wake of political uncertainty (May 27, 2017 19:32 on ccn.com).
b2. Boris Schlossberg says, Buying Bitcoin during its Price Fall is like trying to catch a falling knife. He warns the people not to fall victim to what he considers a false hope, Bitcoin has suffered once from its most dramatic falls on Friday, dropping low as $10,400 (Dec 26, 2017, on medium.com).

c. Bitcoin is not just a cryptocurrency, but a cryptocurrency is not just a new format of money, this is a new system (blockchain). Such system is much stronger than any, even a very strong individual! The imperfection of Bitcoin's protocol will lead to the spread of a more convenient cryptographic currency (alternatives: Ripple, IoTA, NEM). Henry Ford lost the leadership of the motor industry to General Motors, and he never won it back. Аnd this despite the fact that Ford was the first who launched mass production, invented the V8 engine and was a pioneer in the automobile industry. Here is an example of the system that is better than the Bitcoin network. “University of Sydney touts Red Belly Blockchain as outperforming Visa: the university claims its blockchain solution can process more than 660,000 transactions per second on 300 machines in a single datacentre, outperforming Visa by more than 10 times”.

d. You need to know that more than 70% of all bitcoins are in China and the behavior of Chinese speculators almost entirely depends on its course.

e. We believe in the development of cryptoeconomy. But the Internet in many places depends on the stable operation of space satellites. And scientists say that we are approaching the peak of the instability of the sun. In the case of strong flares on the latter, there is a high probability of failure of transmitters on satellites. And therefore there is a possibility of disconnection of the Internet. No Іnternet - no your bitcoins!

f. You heard that the reason for the US attack on Iraq was its chemical weapons. But it was a screen, behind which the true reason for the invasion of Iraq is hidden. As soon as American soldiers entered Baghdad, they took the sarcophagi of the mummies of giant people from the underground storehouse of the main historical museum. At the same time, neighboring boxes full of gold objects (worth hundreds of millions of dollars) remained untouched. Specialists say that the military carried out a mission of masons, who required DNA giants.
Do you remember what was the information release then in the world media: "chemical weapons of Iraq"? This is exactly what happens now with Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies): the media are trying to convince us of a positive outlook for the growth of this market in 2018-2020 (1 BTC up to 100 000$).
There is information about testing and training of Artificial Intelligence through the Bitcoin cryptocurrency networks. Therefore, all who invest in the cryptocurrency, think, you can contribute to the training of the enemy of mankind # 1 (AI). A fabulous profit from the growth Bitcoin - this is a screen for which the true purpose of this novelty is hidden.

The main problem of cryptocurrency market is the absolute lack of control and transparency. Exchanges behind investors can easily issue a cryptocurrency and swing the course. They can easily bankrupt themselves and investors are unlikely to find out whether this was a deliberate bankruptcy. Large institutional investors manipulate the course at their own discretion. Are you still hoping to make money on cryptocurrencies? Do not rush, realize that money is not everything.
Bitcoin is getting more attention than it deserves, but the phenomenon is not going away overnight, according to Morgan Stanley Chairman and CEO James Gorman. "Something that goes up 700 percent in a year — it's by definition speculative," he said. "So anybody who thinks they're buying something that it's a stable investment is deluding themselves." Morgan Stanley says the true price of bitcoin might be zero!

P.S.

  1. To pin this post I was prompted by the story of my relative. He wanted to invest his money ($ 340) profitably in Internet, he transferred them to Poland in the project recyclix.com (profit of 27% per month) – in 2016. But in early 2017 this project turned out to be a scum. All money was lost.
Also, I was very worried and sobered up by the article from"Reddit". One of users (nickname "Luka_Magnotta") in 2013 introduced himself as a traveler in time and published a "letter from the future", dating from 2025. In a letter, he ironically says that, through the support of Bitcoin, humanity wanted to get rid of economic slavery. But the opposite happened: we voluntarily chose total slavery to the cybernetic "Big Brother".

  2. Аt the end of September 2017, I wanted to invest myself in the cryptocurrency, but decided to wait. In the course of investigations, I understood from the words of successful Forex traders that people lose money more often because of the excessive desire for enrichment. And smart people invest money in their minds, health, family and in real off-projects.
    Therefore, I decided to invest money in equipment for training and work (I'm a freelancer: 2016 - copywriter, 2017 - blogger in Ukraine's agriculture ). I bought 12_2017 my first laptop (since 2008 I had a weak computer): Dell precision M4700 I7-3820qm 8Gb, Quadro K2000M, HDD 256gb 1920x1080 (15”).

Good Job!

Quality score? That's a new one. Is this based on FOSSbot algos?

No. I calculate it, by analizing the text itself.
It only works for English text thought...

Texts with non-latin letters (russian, chinese) have ~0-5 points. Non English texts with Latin letters usually get around 3-10 points. English posts written badly (terrible spelling) or having too many links and pictures and almost no text, usually get scores between 10 and 30.
I only reward posts with above 30 points.
The highest score I have seen is ~70 points.

How does FOSSbot work?

It's actually very similar to what you're describing, except that users can assign their own weights to the different factors and score accordingly.

You mean it also uses machine learning to analyse the language of the text? Damn!
I thought I was the first to come up with this idea...

I thought others would only analyze metadata, and not the text itself.

I don't recall the technical details, but it's on GitHub
