My first experience investing in an ICO
Note: This is not any promotional post. I just want blog my experiences as a crypto investor. Totally based on personal opinions.
I am kinda late to the ICO party. With all the boom of ICOs and considerable scams, SimpleToken was my first ICO that I have invested.
There are two things that I consider while investing:
- Idea
- Team
A good idea with a great team will definitely be a success.
IDEA
To make tokenisation of both blockchain based and non-blockchain based platforms easy. Instead of building the token infrastructure for the platform, one can buy STs and reserve them as Branded tokens(BTs). A Branded token is just rebranding ST with your own token name and exchange rate i.e you can 1BT = ?ST. The costs of hiring a blockchain developer and building a token infrastructure around it will get reduced. The idea is viable considering the startup boom happening throughout the world.
TEAM
The only push for me was the CEO Jason Goldberg. He is a veteran in this field. He made successful startups like Fab.com which went on to a $1 billion valuation but unfortunately collapse. He must have definitely learnt from his mistakes. I even took a look at his interviews, he seemed professional and clear with the idea.
Being my first ever ICO investment , I just wanted to test the waters. So I have just invested around $100 worth of ETH.
Personally I tend to invest money that I can afford to lose. Then I can play it like a game of Monopoly. Its fun when you play it like a game.
Anyways, hoping to see the results of my investment soon :)
