A New Coin: SIGNATUM

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Signatum is a new coin that is a PoW/Hybrid/PoS and currently ASIC proof. These is some mis-information in the [ANN] that was released on BitCoin Talk and I will be correcting it here.

Ticker: SIGT
NEW PROOF OF WORK: SkunkHash Raptor
. No ICO
. No Premine
. Fair Launch
. 2 Minute Block Time**, I believe this is incorrect and block times are 1 min.
. Total PoW Coins: 137,500,000
. PoW/PoS after block 98500
. Last PoW Block: 100,000
. Pure PoS after block 100,000
. PoS 5% Annual Interest
. Dark Gravity Wave v3 Implemented for PoW stage

SIGT is a BitCoin clone with a simple to use QT interface.
There is already AMD and Nvidia mining software available

  • sgminer w/ SkunkHash
  • ccminer w/ SkunkHash

This coin does support TOR

Mining Pools:

This coin is only 4 days old, this is your chance to get in on a new coin with no cost other than some cycles. I would estimate in 90 days this coin will be on one or more exchanges and trading in the range of 300 through 3000 satoshis

Careful. "Pure POS" is a "pure piece of shit".

There is a reason that real projects like Ethereum are taking a long time to get this right.

Proof of stake protocols are vulnerable to two major issues:

There is no consensus protocol that really fully addresses both of these problems. Tendermint is pretty close but Ethereum's Casper is designed to value availablity more than consistency.

Soooooo long story short, this is a whole load of crap unless they can solve those problems.

Casper and Ethereum are close but PoS is still rather untested.

Thanks for adding clarity here, Kyle. I was unaware of the general problem with POS you've explained.

Cheers!

There are a lot of nuances when dealing with consensus protocols.

Be sure to read Vitalik's blog posts on the matter. He does a fantastic job of explaining exactly what I am talking about. I don't think I could write something as succinctly as he can.

Is there any minimum amount of coins for stake in pos?

I have the same question, were you able to get and answer?

Casper is going to change the playing field. Might even knock BTC down a peg or two... I'm confident the flippening will still happen but maybe the schedule has changed a bit.

Casper is hopefully going to enable real on chain scaling and the sharding needed for the future.

Keep in mind that PoS and PoW are not interchangeable. There is a reason that BTC will and always should stick to PoW.

You can't mess with entropy. The world needs one entropy based store of value.

pardon my lack of knowledge, but what is "Casper"?

@iceburst - interesting new coin, quick question though, what value does this coin deliver to the community? Does this coin solve a particular problem?
Thanks for the mining pool info as well, much appreciated

SIGT's full features aren't quite known yet. The integration with TOR suggests will provide cover in the form of transactions and all for anonymous services. There is a discussion about the coin offering as a service further anonymous services that could be extended to the user beyond transactions. These services would of course be paid for in SIGT to generate the coins value.

@iceburst, thank you for the reply :) Is there a timeframe as to when SIGT's features will become more known?

Great Post we are looking forward to picking some of these up when they hit the exchanges!

It is believed that the first exchange to allow SIGT will be Cryptopia. The DOT fee has already been payed to have the coin listed. I will be watching this coin with a very close eye and will personally also acquire some coins.

Cool name, it could have potential like you said if it ended up on one of the major exchanges out there, total supply also seems good. Btw where is their official website?

Thank you for bringing this up, this is a critical piece of information I omitted: http://signatum.io/

wow... thanks for posting.... looking forward how it will reach the market and stand strong....

Seems like a great project. I would definitely look forward to this coin for sure. Thanks for sharing this information @iceburst

Indeed a great post so far. Always been your admirer. Followed and upvoted. Do follow me @bindu

Nice port @iceburst
I was looking for a new coin to mine. Are you aware of any lists to track new mineable coins?

Hi,
It might end up like similar privacy centric coin AnonCoin. Unfortunately, after some initial development, the coin seems to be abandoned. The coin is fully compatible with the I2P and TOR Darknets. I think, that it is really a shame it did not go further as it had potential.
