Fun thing to do: Use Etherscan to see how much Ethereum Bittrex etc are holding.

Pretty obvious I know but in my first journey to track some ether of mine that went M.I.A, I found that I could snoop at the balances of the exchanges I send to or get from. The paper trail is as follows.

Here are my transactions from my ether wallet. OOOh my purchase of EOS...let's see how that crowd sale is doing.

32 million dollars worth of ether not bad, obviously some has been withdrawn as revenue.

I wonder if I can look at bittrex, I found this out because you have to sent 0.1 ETH to Bittrex before it shows on your balance. I'd sent 0.1 before but that doesn't matter so far I've got 0.04 floating around.

Wholly crap 618 million dollars of Ether they are holding!

Now I understand why you can't get drops on exchanges, they are basically holding it all in one wallet (hope that private key is safe, I'm willing to write it in my private key book for them just to keep it safe haha)

Which means they amount of Gas they are getting from Neo etc for basically free, they could just basically make a living holding people's rewards.

You probably already knew, its probably public knowledge anyway but it was fun pretending to be in The Wire for 20 minutes.

Peace
