1- Attackers recognize that users are copying and pasting the addresses and have created malware to take advantage of this. This type of malware, called CryptoCurrency Clipboard Hijackers, works by monitoring the Windows clipboard for cryptocurrency addresses, and if one is detected, will swap it out with an address that they control. Unless a user double-checks the address after they paste it, the sent coins will go to an address under the attackers control instead the intended recipient.
2 - A Japanese district court has, for the first time, sentenced a man to prison in a remote crypto mining case. The case follows the arrests of Coinhive users by the police in 10 prefectures. However, this case is different from previously discussed cases of mining cryptocurrencies using website visitors’ computers.
3 - Leaders of tax enforcement authorities from Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, theUnited Kingdom and the United States have established a joint operational alliance, the Joint Chiefs of Global Tax Enforcement (J5), to increase collaboration in the fight against international and transnational tax crime and money laundering.
4 - Japanese Financial Services Agency saying that as of March, Japan had at least 3.5 million citizens trading cryptocurrencies. It’s not just citizens clamoring to get in on the act. The nation has already received more than 100 applications for new cryptocurrency exchanges. And when one of your biggest e-commerce retailers plans to offer its own cryptocurrency, you know crypto is getting hot.
5 - Viber, a cross-platform instant messaging and voice-over IP application operated by Japanese multinational company Rakuten, has plans to become a platform for its parent company’s cryptocurrency, Rakuten Coin.
