A VR world that is decentralized! (MANA)

What is Decentraland(MANA)?

Decentraland, also known as MANA on exchanges, is an amazing, innovative, futuristic project that is one of the big reasons that I am so excited about Blockchain technology and what the future holds with it. Decentraland is essentially the very first VR city in the world where virtual land auctions took place. 90,000 parcels of land were sold in Decentraland and anyone could have taken their MANA and bid on the parcels.

There are a few really big community projects that were automatically assigned to the grid of 90,000 parcels before the auction took place. Some of those projects include a digital Las Vegas, where there will be VR gambling and gaming, Shopping Districts, where you can order and virtually “try on” and see what certain clothes items look like on you, a University District where you can learn about a multitude of subjects including Blockchain and many more!

I think that it will be amazing to be able to put on a VR headset and travel to a land like Decentraland to interact with other people. You could go play poker with a friend of yours that lives halfway across the country or go shopping in a VR store with a relative that lives too far away to hang out with in person. The possibilities with Decentraland are limitless because anyone that bought land in the auction can build their own project or store within the city too!

Mana Decentraland Is A Long Term Project

I am not sure how long it will take for Decentraland to be fully functional, but I know that I am extremely excited for the day that I can put on a VR headset and go check out the city! There will be all types of entertainment available from VR movies, to stand-up routines, and even adult-based VR activities. Yes that is right, there is a red light district in Decentraland as well.

You will be able to rent out your land in Decentraland and ownership records/contracts are always kept safe on the Ethereum Blockchain!

Final Thoughts On Mana Decentraland

This is one application of Blockchain/VR/futuristic technology that I can clearly see working out for the long term, and it is something that the younger generation will truly be excited about using.

I could see this token easily exceeding the $1.00 mark and it’s long-term value will strongly depend on how quickly they build their VR world before other companies start doing the same thing.

This is definitely a cryptocurrency that I would recommend checking out for 2018 and beyond!

thanks for the great write up, for more information visit our blog https://blog.decentraland.org/ or follow us here on steemit!

Wow, the Decentraland project sounds really effective and more imaginative project and i really agree with you, once this is functional then we will get to know the future of this project, possibly this project can take over the market because Virtual Reality is an concept which attracts everyone and when it comes to more personalised activities on Virtual Reality world then this project will be on everyone's eyes. Thanks for sharing and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

Wow decentraland.. what an innovation... i never thought something like this, selling and buying virtual land. I personally can’t wait for decentraland to be fully functional. Thanks for sharing this wonderful information

Truly fascinating technology. I can't help but picture the virtual internet portrayed on the show Futurama lol.

I actually invested a small amount in MANA, November 2017, but not enough to buy a parcel of land. It looks a really exciting project and wish I'd had enough funds at the time to join the auction.

I sold my MANA at a slight loss after the pull back started (to free up funds to invest in Steem), but MANA has rallied quite nicely I think from its lows.

As far as I was aware, they were building their virtual city in stages, with more layers of detail & functionality being added over time - although I'm not sure whether it's actually a "place you can visit" yet, even for land-owners.

It's a project I'll be keeping my eye on in future, but I don't see personal VR taking off for a while yet (until the headsets become contact lenses & we'll all happily use them).

Gracias por compartir la informacion, es muy interesante, tendremos que adaptarnos a la compra y venta de terrenos en forma virtual, un abrazo.
