While there are no official rules and all, everything is being self-regulated by the community, cheetah bot is just a way to counteract spam etc. IMO, crossposts are okay and of course, the community here would appreciate link-backs and mentions on themerkle as well (I'm a frequent reader on your site!). It's just based on contributory / voluntary basis.

I think for publications/websites/etc it's a great way to reward user engagement and post sharing as well :)
