HOW TO INSTALL AN EXODUS WALLET - EXODUS WALLET - Tutorial

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

Hello Stemmians!! Today I leave you with an instruction manual to install an Exodus Wallet.

What is a wallet?

Before pointing out the steps for the installation of the Exodus wallet, let's remember that a wallet fulfills the same function as a bank account, to store money, in this case to store Cryptomonedas.

The operation of wallets is based on two elements:

  • Public address (by making an analogy with a bank account would be your CBU Number or public identification number from your account to which money is transferred)
  •

  • The private key (home banking access key or ATM)
Exodus, has a user-friendly interface is easy to use, secure and supports several crypto coins to mention the most important: Aragon, Augur, BAT, Bitcoin, BitCoinCash, BitCoinGold, Civic, Dash, Decred, EOS, Ethereum, Gnosis, Golem, Litecoin, OmiseGo, QTUM, and SALT.

STEPS FOR INSTALLING EXODUS WALLET

To install the Exodus Wallet, follow a series of steps listed below

  1. Enter the Download Link from the Exodus Official Site below

Click Windows or Mac depending on the computer you own.

01 - Descargar Wallet.png

  1. Once you download the application. You will notice that in the BackUp menu there is an exclamation point as follows

02 - Ver Backup Rojo.png

This is because you still haven't made the back up of your wallet. Exodus will create a new wallet automatically, but then you should back up by registering the 12 keywords, which will allow you to restore your funds in the future.
Exodus will ask you to make a first deposit, so you will need someone to transfer a small amount of bitcoins to generate the backup.

Generate bitcoin deposit address.
To receive bitcoin, go to the Wallet menu --> Verify that you have selected Bitcoin Currency, and click Receive.

03 - Recibir Bitcoin.png

The following window will appear:

04 - Codigo Alfanumerico para recibir bitcoins.png

This alphanumeric code is your "public address" also called a "public key". And it would be like your CBU number from your bank account. Every time someone wants to transfer bitcoins or other coins to you, you must send them that address.

Once you have been transferred bitcoin will appear as shown below:

And it will allow us to back up and secure our wallet.

Backup our wallet
To do this, you will be asked to enter a password, which generally must contain letters, numbers and 8 characters.

06 - Crear Contraseña.png

You will need to confirm your password:

07 - Confirmar Contraseña.png

After confirming your password, Exodus will show you 12 keywords that must:

  • Write them down and/or print them out in the order in which Exodus displays them.
  • You will save in a safe place, i. e. a flash drive, hard disk outside a computer connected to the network to avoid possible hacking.
  • optionally, share your password and keywords with a family member or someone you trust.

Finally, you will be asked to enter your email address so that in case you lose your computer and want to restore your wallet, you will receive an email to carry out the restoration.

Ready! We already backup and securely store our private key.
