Brave, the web browser that over the past 2 years has been revolutionising web browsers, is now on the verge of revolutionising the internet, making it safer and more rewarding. Brave has recently made use of Blockchain technology by creating the idea of "Blockchain-based digital advertising" the idea is essentially a way to reward the user, content creator and advertiser by rewarding them with a crypto-token called "BAT"(basic attention token).

Ads on the internet can be very frustrating, they're intrusive, use up a lot of data and they can scam you, this is why a lot of people use ad blockers. However, ad blockers can be harmful for content creators because a lot of their income relies on users clicking on adverts. The obvious solution for this is that content creators should start posting on steem. The other solution is BAT. The BAT tokens are derived from user attention, basically the browser anonymously monitors how long you spend on a web page. Content creators get rewarded tokens when the ads are viewed and on user attention, users get rewarded if they choose to receive ads and their most recent update allows users to donate tokens to their favourite content creators.

If you are not already using Brave the time to start is now, because Brave is giving away 300,000 BAT (worth about $60,000) over the next 30 days. You usually do earn tokens just by using Brave but with this promotion you would earn a lot more!

Let me know if you are going to switch to Brave in comments below!

Brave will notify you at some point while browsing, it won't necessarily be 30 coins it could be more, could be less.

ok thanks iv also followed thanks for the heads up

I think I am going to pass on this one. Watching ads to get a new coin? Do we not have enough ads just by itself?

You don't actually need to view the ads, you get rewarded for just browsing and giving back to your favourite content creators. The browser actually blocks ads and trackers unless you state otherwise.

There are people who set up 50-100 cheap smartphones [and a few pcs] via wifi and just let them watch ads-all done within the various companies terms of service- and earn hundreds of dollars a month doing nothing except checking their network every few hours. Some reports thousands a month, but that is unlikely. Not enough to quit the day job over, but still not bad.

I am trying to research it more; might make law school affordable.

is this better than mining coins then? Currently can't get my own mining rig to work so this sounds like a good alternative.

On my machine it took me a few month to mine a buck of monero, but the slow rate could have been because I can't gpu mine. i don't bother mining anymore.
If you have an old pc and want to get started, look into earnhoney. Many people report making a few bucks a day, and I was too and there wasn't any capchas. Where I am am not getting any ads anymore, so i have to use lesser pc based programs that have to be checked every few hours which isn't ideal.

I am getting my first two $20 wifi enabled smartphones on the 15th, and that'll be my first venture into app based passive earning.

thanks for the insight. Just find it difficult to burn electricity for the sake of a few bucks but that is the reality we are faced with. Even mining coins the proof of work way seems silly but hey it made millionaires. Now that ain't so silly.

Well I am intrigued. I'm gonna give it a shot and see how this all goes down. Though I do try to actively avoid ads I'll mkae an exception this time for crypto.

The ads aren't intrusive and don't track you, and they are only on websites that accept BAT, so I think you will enjoy it.

Ooh so BAT tokens have finally been implemented on the Brave browser? I've been waiting for this for so long since i'm online for work almost 20 hours per day.

Yes they have! I'm not sure exactly how long ago it was implemented, I've only been using it for a couple of days.
Thanks for your upvote
