It's been a tough week, but finally we got all 24x GTX 1060s up and running on our Linux set up!

"Our first project under Hash Courier name (our wanna-be-company) that we've build together with my friend and Co-founder of Hash Courier mining services - David."

HARDWARE SPECS:

  • Mobo: Asus Prime Z270-A
  • Procesor: Intel Pentium G4400 (I know - celeron is cheaper, but hey, I got these with 20% discount...)
  • GPUs: 8x EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0 (on each miner)
  • Memory: Kingston HyperX 4GB DDR4 single
  • PSUs: 2x Corsair HX750 (on each miner)
  • SSD: Western Digital 120GB green
  • Additional fans: 3x-4x Corsair AF140mm (on each miner)

It did not start very well at the beginning....

We still had to wait for our risers and additional Add2PSU + M.2 to PCI-e adapter that were all shipped from USA

We decided to start with our shelf, which probably was the easiest part... :D

Then we moved on to 3x builds...

IMG_20170629_192559.jpg

After connecting more than 3 of the GPUs on each cards we encountered the stability problems which forced us to switch from Windows 10 to Ubuntu 16.04 (my natural habitat, hohoho)...

And after like 5 days of testing benchmarking and patching we finally managed to run all 8 GPUs on each rig!

We decided to go for Zencash mining via zenmine.pro pool - around 7000h/s gives us a solid 30$

We are looking forward to essembling more mining rig in the future (once we get some ROI back :D), stay tuned for more cool mining rig builds!

What were the prices for 1060s? They are really hard to get so im kinda surprised how you got 24x of them.

I got them from wholesales in a specialized shop - I was lucky my friend's father works with computes so I bought them with 15% sale All 3 rigs costed around 3000$ each so that makes 9000$ plus Monitor, keyboard, mouse and some cabels... :)

Thanks you sir! I'm gonna keep you updated!

Looking forward to it! :)

Nice project keep it up 😀

Thanks! :)

Hi, im builing a rig with this gpus but im having trouble with my mobo detectinf this cards.

I currently have a gigabyte 990fx gaming g1 when i connect this gtx 1060 with my powered usb risers they are not detected but if i use older gpus they get detected! Im using a evga 1600 g2 so power is not problem.

Do you have a recomendation for workinf with this cards?

Hey @sigimtz ! :) thanks for asking! I need to know what mobo do you have?

@lifipp Gigabyte x990fx gaming g1!

It might be a problem of the GPU drivers - if you're running Windows 10 uninstall all the drivers and install them via device manager, also make sure your virtual memory is on 16GB. I hope that will help :)

Im running it with ubuntu 16.04 latest drivers available, y have 3 other gtx 1060 different manufacturers only the pny one is not detected with risres i have a box with 10 more risers so risers is not the problem. I have other gpus and tested and they got detected just the pny is not. I will change this card for an asus or gigabyte for further testing thank you!

ok @sigimtz good luck with your rigs! I hope it will work as it should! :)

real hard work , keep it up guys

We will! Thank you :)

What ROI do you expect?

about a half a year - depends on upcoming price trends
