Jack Dorsey, co-founder and CEO of Twitter, assured that Bitcoin will eventually become the native currency of the Internet. Despite the unenthusiastic atmosphere that is currently experienced within the cryptographic community, this entrepreneur believes that the cryptocurrency has the potential to become the native currency of the network.
"Bitcoin was something that was born on the Internet, it was developed on the Internet, it was tested on the Internet ... it's Internet."
The CEO of Twitter has stated this on several occasions, being the first time during an interview in mid-May 2018, when he said he saw Bitcoin as an option to become the native currency of the Internet.
However, the whole 2018 was a difficult year for cryptocurrencies, maintaining a bear market and reaching its lowest prices since 2017; so it is normal that the idea of Bitcoin as a native currency of the network has lost popularity.
During an interview conducted by Joe Rogan, Dorsey was asked if he saw any rejection with regard to Bitcoin, to which he responded by suggesting that "you should only observe some of the major banks and their considerations about Bitcoin."
"Everyone loves Blockchain, because of the efficiencies they can create for their business and potentially new business line," Dorsey said. However, he later admitted that this technology "certainly threatens certain services behind banks and financial institutions, is a threat to some governments as well."
