HitBTC fakenewsd me Bigtime

in #cryptocurrency6 years ago (edited)

All of the sudden my SBD ticker is up all these percentage points, I'm starting to freak out because I'm not near my computer. I'm one of those dudes that refuses to trade with a phone app (maybe I should change my ways, maybe) but I digress. I get home, I turn on the monitor and call a friend, open coinmarketcap, and there it is.

WHAT, HITBTC??

I must confess for a second I was having one of those completely un-Zen situations that almost always lead to terrible decisions. So, I sat down, and decided to not do a thing until this thing made sense. As it turns out, when it's too good to be true, its because it is. The wallets of HITBTC are under maintenance and somehow someway someone is buying up the order book.

I'm confused to say the least. This makes absolutely no sense and I'm trying to put on the batman suit and come up with some valid theory but I'm having the hardest of times. Could it be simply some old orders that started to be filled? Maybe, but does this mean that these orders where disabled since February or something?

I'm sure many have noticed already

So, I will wait anxiously to get an answer because this "glitch" won't let me sleep in peace. The conspiracy junkie that I keep quiet is attempting to speak and I don't like him too much, not when it comes to investments.

For now, I know one thing..

HITBTC Fakenewsd ME

It's not the first time, and I'm sure it wont be the last. I know that its a big exchange, I even know of some people (no idea why) that prefer it, but every single time I'm on that website I remember why I stopped using that exchange in the first place.

Well, this is great news... glad this helped you! Part of the reason why I made the post... imagine someone sending SBD's to disabled wallets and then dealing with HITBTC customer service.

Idk if anyone has ever gotten anyone to help there, I've tried 3 or 4 times...

So I noticed the average price seemed to be 2.47, as per the photo above, so I was about to rush to change SBD to steem.

i was about to do the same on bittrex... i would have been pretty upset, hence why i had to regain the ZEN... as my friend calls it...

You know.. the "wait... what is the catch here... something has to be wrong"

I think this is not the first time I heard people complaining about HITBTC.
This is technical and many people are involved, they should stop misleading people with this nonsense, we are all waiting for things to get better, so they should stop playing on our emotions.

Sorry for the pain and trauma they would have caused, let's hope it's an indication of something better coming our ways in few days time.

Also know as sHitBTC, anyway avoid Yobit like plague too, I'm having a hard time with that

sHitBTC - "il miglior servizio clienti al mondo"

I lost some ERC20 tokens once, about 0.2 worth of Ether, never got them to reply to a single email. Wrote about 20 of them.

This is uncalled for, they should not be messing with things like this, I've heard a friend complaining about the same problem not too long ago.
People are really waiting to pull the trigger, they should stop playing on our emotions.....

Sorry dude, you can go and have a sweet night rest, don't allow them to play on you.
